On March 20th, the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Public Security received the Autogate system from Da Nang International Airport Investment and Exploitation Joint Stock Company (AHT), officially putting it into operation at Da Nang International Airport.
This is considered a significant step in the airport modernization strategy, moving towards a smart terminal model, optimizing check-in processes, minimizing waiting times, and enhancing the passenger experience.
Four automated immigration gates have been installed to modernize the airport.
Once implemented, the Autogate system will optimize immigration and customs clearance times and passenger flow, especially for international travelers; reduce pressure on control personnel through fully automated processes; and enhance security and accuracy with an advanced biometric identification system.
In 2024, AHT collaborated with FPT Software to implement intelligent monitoring and control systems, including self-check-in kiosks, self-bag-drop-off counters, automatic boarding gates, and AI camera systems to monitor passenger density, supporting efficient passenger flow management and minimizing staff intervention.
The Autogate system will help optimize immigration and customs clearance times and passenger flow, especially for international travelers.
With the handover of 4 automated immigration control gates to the Immigration Department - Ministry of Public Security, Da Nang International Airport has become the first airport in Vietnam to complete 100% automation from check-in to baggage drop-off, immigration procedures, and boarding gates.
