Tan Son Nhat Airport stops using loudspeakers to call passengers to board planes

Tan Son Nhat International Airport will stop broadcasting at the domestic and international terminals to limit noise and improve passenger service quality in conditions of overloaded infrastructure.

A representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport said that from July 1, 2019, the international terminal (T2) will stop broadcasting by microphone (speaker), automatic broadcast models at the terminal. At the same time, only the "Gate change" broadcast model will be maintained: Announcing departure gate changes. For the domestic terminal (T1), this change will be applied from October 1.

All status information will be continuously updated on the FIDS screen system and implemented according to the issued coordination regulations. Tan Son Nhat International Airport has sent notices to airlines and ground service units about the implementation plan. In case of problems or difficulties, recommendations will be sent to the airport to ensure the quality of passenger service.

Thus, Tan Son Nhat will be the first airport in Vietnam not to broadcast flight information at the terminal. Previously, since the end of 2016, Noi Bai International Airport only broadcasts each news bulletin once in separate areas according to regulations, also with the purpose of limiting noise.
