Everything is in constant motion. As a part of this, humans need to continuously reinvent themselves. But because of this, humans can easily fall into a state of uncertainty, dazedness, and confusion amidst many misconceptions about true values.
- A dull individual will be unable to create value.
- A society composed of dull-witted individuals cannot progress.
- An economy made up of a sluggish, knowledge-based workforce cannot thrive.
Art of Reinvention – A cultural foundation for urban intellectuals
Art of Reinvention was created with the aspiration of providing urban intellectual workers in Indochina and beyond to Southeast Asia with more opportunities to continuously break down their own preconceived notions about the world around them, dismantle the illusory wall between the individual self and the collective self, clearly recognize and root themselves in true values, become stronger in their understanding, and constantly expand their knowledge to create not only material things but also values.
This is a long-term program initiated and designed by Duong Do - the founder of Toong, the first co-working space chain in Vietnam.
Guests attending the event
The Art of Reinvention program is built upon a multifaceted connection between different fields such as art, technology, business, and lifestyle; between different formats such as exhibitions, performances, workshops, sharing sessions, and intimate dinners; between different locations within Toong's extensive Indochina network; between different scales ranging from small weekly workshops to city-wide events; and between different cultures across the entire network of locations affiliated with the program.

Experience Week: Rediscovering Saigon
After launching a series of weekly workshops revolving around diverse themes, encouraging participants to re-examine their norms and knowledge about seemingly familiar things like smells, sounds, body language, movies, the taste of chocolate, money and values, and Saigon in everyone's mind, Art of Reinvention will explode with a week of cultural events packed with creative energy at the end of July.
Mr. Duong Do shared the program with the press.
The Reinvent Saigon Experience Week will take place at 5 locations in Ho Chi Minh City, including:
- Toong 126 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, District 3
- Toong 20 Minh Khai, District 1
- Toong 87 Ham Nghi Street, District 1
- Toong and The Oxygen Shopping Mall, at Vista An Phu, District 2.
- Toong and Faifo Lane Shopping Mall, at Vista Verde, District 2
Rediscover SaigonIt will open up entirely new perspectives on Saigon through art exhibitions, painting classes, creative workshops, craft workshops, discussions on lifestyle, design, technology, business, and performances, led by outstanding and reputable artists and experts in each field.
The week is divided into five thematic groups corresponding to five venues, with four groups revolving around the beauty of Saigon in the past and present in terms of: Language and Design, Cuisine, Architecture and Urban Planning, Fashion and Lifestyle. And one theme culminates from these: Saigon of the Future.
Sharing more details about the program's structure, Mr. Duong Do said: "The program is designed to give participants the opportunity to explore the beauty of Saigon through various aspects and layers, both in the past and present. These values will be the raw materials for creating a future Saigon with its own unique identity and meaning on the world cultural map."
He also emphasized: "We want to portray a life full of meaningful activities, activities that we believe will help each person live better every day, truly taking action to make a difference instead of focusing on being upset and criticizing what is not right in society."

CapitaLand Vietnam and event management company VECS immediately supported the idea and collaborated with Toong to implement the program. In just two months of preparation, the week-long event brought together more than 20 innovative organizations and progressive businesses that care about the city, participating in dozens of activities across five locations in the city.
