Easter does not take place on a fixed date. Christians usually consider Easter to be the Sunday after the first full moon or after the spring equinox. Therefore, Easter is also considered a spring festival, celebrating the change of seasons. In 2022, the celebration began on April 16th.
As its name suggests, Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross, but then miraculously rose from the dead. Furthermore, on this day, people often give each other small, colorful eggs. Many ancient cultures believed that the universe was born from an egg, so the egg is a symbol of nature and rebirth.

According to the LA Times, California city authorities are advising residents to maintain social distancing during the Easter holiday due to fears of a new outbreak. Barbara Ferre, Director of the California Department of Public Health, is concerned about a vaccine shortage, despite the state having vaccinated millions of citizens.
"Over the past three months, the pandemic situation has improved significantly, with millions more people vaccinated. But we are concerned that there will not be enough vaccines for the next wave if people are not careful," said Barbara Ferre.
