Mr. Nguyen Thanh Han, Director of the Center, said that the recent outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic has caused unemployment and underemployment rates in the community to increase.
"Many workers from other provinces and cities who come to Ho Chi Minh City to work are stuck during the pandemic and cannot return to their hometowns, leading to not being able to pay for accommodation. On the other hand, we often see images scattered on the streets, the number of homeless people is increasing rapidly, they have to sleep under bridges or on the sidewalks of people's houses, it is very pitiful. The dream of having a good night's sleep seems simple to us but is so difficult for them," Mr. Han shared.
Therefore, Mr. Han launched the program.ATM community jobsandCommunity hostel ATMto share some of the burden of worries of people in difficulty. This will become a bridge between the recruitment needs of business units and the job search needs of people. At the same time, connecting people looking for accommodation and lodging to community accommodation addresses in this difficult time.
Mr. Han expressed his hope that the program will receive more support from businesses and landlords. "There are currently many kind-hearted families willing to support temporary accommodation for those in difficulty and without a place to stay," Mr. Han added.
