On February 25, Austrian authorities confirmed the first two cases of nCoV infection in the country. The patients are both Italian citizens, living in Tyrol. They are believed to have contracted the virus during a trip to Lombardy - the epicenter of the epidemic in Italy.
The Croatian Prime Minister also announced on the same day that the country had recorded its first case of nCoV infection. The patient is being treated in isolation at a clinic in the capital Zagreb. According to Croatian Health Minister Vili Beros, the patient had been to Milan (Lombardy, Italy) from February 19 to 21.
Milan (Italy) has not been locked down yet but has become quiet and stagnant due to the epidemic.
The Swiss Ministry of Health has also just confirmed the first case of nCoV infection but refused to say where this case was discovered.
As of now, Italy is the country with the highest number of nCoV virus infections in Europe and the third highest in the world (after China and South Korea). According to statistics on February 26, Italy recorded 323 cases of Covid-19 infection, including 11 deaths. More than 50,000 people in 11 towns in Northern Italy, believed to be the outbreak site, have been locked down to prevent the spread of the disease.
