Aura The Orange is like a miniature art exhibition in the heart of the Old Quarter, located at 8 Nha Chung Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
Dinh Chien, manager at Aura The Orange, shared with Travellive: “The owner's passion and interest in art is reflected in the paintings he collects at Aura. The paintings displayed in the bar are rotated like a 'miniature art exhibition,' a playground for art enthusiasts and wine lovers. Essentially, the owner of Aura wants to share his passion for art with everyone so they can admire genuine works of art. These aren't copies or ordinary paintings; they are works created by renowned Vietnamese artists such as Le Anh Quan, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong, Doan Xuan Tang, Le Minh Phong, Nguyen Hien, Nguyen Quoc Hung…”

Art space at Aura The Orange
The original purpose of Aura wasn't to be a bar displaying paintings, but rather an art space with wine that's beautiful and relaxing enough for guests to leave their work behind and unwind, relaxing all their senses.
At Aura The Orange, each painting is carefully placed to maximize its visual appeal from every angle. These paintings not only imbue the space with a consistent artistic color scheme but also create moments of reflection on the orange wall behind them. The paintings displayed at Aura are also rotated regularly.
Explaining the bar's name, Dinh Chien said: "The word 'Aura' can be translated as 'halo,' referring to the energy surrounding us. It reflects an individual's physical, mental, and emotional state, which others can fully sense when nearby. This explains why some people make us feel uneasy when in contact, while others make us feel comfortable and relaxed. This is how we react to the energy of others at the same frequency, recognizing each other and connecting with each other from the most fundamental aspects. We chose the color orange – 'The Orange' – to represent personality traits and states: balance, energy, and security."
Let's chat over glasses of fragrant wine, immerse ourselves in the paintings, and enjoy the slow passage of time.
Standing out in the third floor of Aura The Orange are three brightly colored paintings on the central wall of the room.
A unique art viewing space combined with a cocktail bar.
The artistry at Aura The Orange extends beyond the artistic ambiance of the space; it's also present in each cocktail enjoyed with all the senses. Here, crafting drinks from simple, familiar ingredients is considered an art form. The main ingredients used are mostly naturally processed fruits and vegetables, rather than artificial flavorings, aiming for the most natural taste possible.
Aura The Orange boasts a diverse and constantly changing wine menu. Notably, it features unique cocktail recipes, with seven cocktails representing interesting messages from the aura, conveyed through accompanying postcards representing each color.

Discover the unique message in each cocktail made just for you.
Each cocktail embodies the seven colors of aura and their meanings: red for passion, motivation, and strength; orange for balance, energy, and protection; yellow for creativity, joy, and inner power; green for harmony, growth, and regeneration; blue for peace, relaxation, and freedom; indigo for appreciation, wisdom, and connection; and purple for spirituality, meditation, and calmness.
“Another special thing about Aura is that when a customer comes to the bar but doesn't know what to order, the staff will suggest something and bring you paper and crayons. You can draw anything with your favorite colors, and the bartender will look at it and guess to create a drink that perfectly matches your current mood. Each color carries its own emotion, energy, and taste. It's like an art experience game,” Dinh Chien said.

A cherished painting requires a significant amount of time to admire and appreciate.
An aura is essentially a halo with seven distinct colors.
At Aura The Orange, the paintings are primarily abstract. Nighttime also contributes to a more contemplative and introspective mood, making viewing abstract art at such times quite enjoyable, allowing one to pause, contemplate the layers of association, and discover their own message.
Dinh Chien further shared: “For abstract paintings, the interesting thing is: today you see one emotion, tomorrow you see a different one, rather than imagining something specific and the same. Those who appreciate the painting will be moved by the artwork. Guests who come here to enjoy cocktails alongside the artistic space will also have their aesthetic sense enhanced, elevating the overall art scene. For example, a house with paintings hanging in the space already creates a difference and evokes emotions. A space filled with paintings that inspires a love of art also changes the habits and prejudices of young people about going to bars. Going to a bar isn't just about loud music.”
At Aura The Orange, you can easily sit down and slowly savor the layers of meaning in the original painting – something rarely possible at a typical art exhibition.
In addition, every Wednesday evening at 8 PM, Aura The Orange screens a selection of excellent films, allowing guests to forget their worries, focus on the screen, and enjoy captivating movies.
Aura The Orange boasts a miniature art museum within its cocktail bar, offering a unique art appreciation experience and becoming a magical haven for nurturing emotions and healing the soul. It's no coincidence that it's called a sophisticated space for all the senses: sight, taste, smell, hearing, and touch.
