The breathtaking natural scenery captured during numerous trips from North to South Vietnam has strongly inspired Bui Van Hai (Haionthego) to diligently capture special moments. "Before the pandemic, I took quite a lot of photos, but it wasn't until the lockdown that I shared them with everyone. At that time, almost no one could travel anywhere, so photos of nature and people became a means for people to travel everywhere and freely experience the beauty of the country," Van Hai said.
Bui Van Hai is currently an impressive multi-platform travel content creator, with the fanpage "Beauty of Vietnam," Instagram @haionthego, and TikTok "A Glimpse of Vietnam."
Most of Bui Van Hai's photos are taken using a drone, resulting in highly expansive views. From above, the fishermen busily pulling in their nets, the vast rice paddies stretching as far as the eye can see, or the clear salt fields reflecting the clouds in the sky... all appear unusually beautiful.

In photography, especially landscape photography, the most difficult thing is capturing the perfect moment. To get the photos he wants, Van Hai sometimes has to spend 2-3 years. Each year, he visits the same location 2-3 times to "hunt" for the moment. Patience is both a challenge and a necessity for anyone working in photography.
"Even though the scenery is the same, the photos all contain completely different spirits. Because in each moment, the emotions, mindset, and experiences are different. Each of those moments is beautiful in its own unique way," shared travel photographer Bui Van Hai.

Travel photographer Bui Van Hai prefers capturing scenes of the daily life and work of coastal fishermen. According to him, taking aerial photos with a drone isn't too difficult. However, approaching and photographing those scenes from an unspecified position at sea is anything but easy. For almost two years now, he has traveled to Phu Yen for 15-30 days at a time to capture the authentic and unique scenes of fishermen casting their nets.
Taking close-up photos of fishing boats offshore is no easy task.
Bui Van Hai has always prioritized certain criteria for creating a satisfying photograph. He values the inherent naturalness of the activities, minimizing intervention to create an unnatural aesthetic. The original colors of the landscape must also be respected, so he mostly only adds subtle touches to make the photograph complete, preserving the clarity of the scenes so that viewers can experience the most authentic aspects of the landscape.
