On April 29, the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Saigon - Gia Dinh Armed Forces Traditional Resistance Club officially introduced to tourists the tour program "Following the footprints of Saigon Special Forces". This is the result of 1 year of research, evaluation and completion of destinations in the tour package, and at the same time, introduced on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2020).

Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said: “The tourism program “Following the footsteps of Saigon Special Forces” is one of the products that has received the attention and direction of the City’s leaders. It is a unique and special tourism product that only Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City has. The program not only aims to preserve for future generations a particularly heroic historical period of the nation through introducing the uniqueness in the organization, activities and operations of the Saigon Special Forces, but also to introduce the patriotic and peace-loving Vietnamese people to international friends.”

The program is designed to include half-day and one-day tours. Visitors experience the means of transportation between destinations, which are the vehicles used by the Saigon Special Forces in the past, such as: Honda 67, Honda Dame, and vintage cars. The destinations in the "Following the Footsteps of the Saigon Special Forces" tour are equipped with modern information technology applications combined with real-life experiences, built on the actual working methods of the Saigon Special Forces during the resistance war.



Historical relics and "bases" of Saigon Special Forces have become unique destinations such as: Base of Saigon Special Forces with Korean Broken Rice - Do Phu Coffee, National Historical Relic - where the secret weapons of Saigon Special Forces are hidden or Smart Museum, preserving historical stories about the activities as well as memorabilia of Saigon Special Forces, Special National Historical Relic Independence Palace,...


Joining this tour, visitors not only experience being a soldier of the Saigon Special Forces but also meet historical witnesses of the Saigon Special Forces: Mr. Phan Van Hon, Mrs. Minh Nghia, Mr. Muoi Tho, with the participation of Mr. Tran Vu Binh - son of the late Saigon Special Forces soldier - Hero of the People's Armed Forces Tran Van Lai.
