The Still+ exhibition showcases works created during the pandemic by six contemporary artists, a firm affirmation that no matter what difficulties they face, these true artists "still create, still paint, still play, still hope... and are still full of love."

The Still+ exhibition, featuring nearly 100 works showcasing the distinctive artistic styles and personalities of six contemporary artists currently living and working in Ho Chi Minh City – Vo Hoang Nhut, Le Hai Trieu, Thai Vinh Thanh, Zdung Nguyen, Nguyen Tan Vi, and Vo Nguyen Thu – will take place at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts from December 4th to December 8th.

Nearly 100 exhibited works are exceptional pieces created during the social distancing period in Ho Chi Minh City – a time when tragedy, repression, and panic permeated every corner and street. However, this gloom and darkness are not what the artists want viewers to focus on when encountering their works. Instead, they aim to spread a more positive and optimistic attitude towards life, through the way these artists overcame the pandemic and the most tragic days in Saigon.

Artist Le Hai Trieu, a member of the Still+ exhibition team, shared that Covid-19 in the past few months has been truly devastating, but it "also awakened each person to return to dialogue with themselves, to care for and contemplate life with themselves and others more authentically and closely," and for an artist like him, painting is also a "vaccine" to help artists survive through this difficult period.

The lockdown period was a time for artists to slow down, listen to themselves, and discover their true selves through each color and brushstroke. It was also a time to completely immerse themselves in their love and passion for what they often liken to a "beautiful girl"—the girl named "Painting"—and create works with diverse perspectives that impact viewers' emotions, while simultaneously conveying a humanistic message about spreading love within the community.
