The art exhibition "The Times We Live In" was curated by German curator Sonja A. Fischer. She met with each artist, learning about their work during the pandemic, quarantine, and post-quarantine periods across the North, Central, and South of Vietnam to select unique pieces.
The exhibition features 80 works by 40 artists.
“The Times We Live In” reflects an anxious outlook on the pandemic with masks, pills, and needles; sometimes it's about time spent at home, landscapes, flowers, and beautiful places; sometimes it's about memories, premonitions, and expectations… All the works showcase the diverse perceptions and experiences of the artists from 2020 to the present, with all their extraordinary skills in expressing themselves through different works of art.

Tourists come to admire the paintings.
The exhibition will take place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Afterwards, the artworks will be displayed in Germany: Weimer, Berlin, Hamburg… All profits from the exhibition will be used to fund equipment for hospitals in Vietnam.

The artists participating in this exhibition include: Luong Luu Bien, Luu Tuyen, Luong Trung, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Vu Thai Binh, Nguyen The Dung, Nguyen The Hung, Phung Van Huy, Nguyen Van Duc...
Regarding the German curator, Sonja Annelies Fischer, she is a psychiatrist, an art therapist, an art lecturer, and an art lover, especially of Vietnamese art. All of these backgrounds fuel her intense passion for collecting unique works of art.

She began collecting paintings in 2004 and has since purchased hundreds of works by Vietnamese artists. KayserTradeGalleries, which she founded, has contributed to promoting and connecting Vietnamese art to the European public through the events she organizes. In 2017, she opened an artist residence for Vietnamese artists in Hoi An and became an honorary member of the Hoi An Fine Arts Association in Quang Nam, Vietnam.
