The exhibition “The Times We Live In” was created by German curator Sonja A. Fischer. She met with each artist, learned about their works during the pandemic, quarantine and post-quarantine in the three regions of the North, Central and South to select unique works.
The exhibition brings together 80 works with the participation of 40 artists.
“The Times We Live In” shows a worried look at the pandemic with masks, pills, needles; sometimes it is the time at home, landscapes, flowers, beautiful places; sometimes it is memories, premonitions, expectations… All the works show the diverse perceptions and experiences of the artists from 2020 to now with all their extraordinary skills to express themselves in different works of art.

Tourists come to enjoy paintings
The exhibition takes place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Afterwards, the works will be displayed in Germany: Weimer, Berlin, Hamburg… All profits from the exhibition will be used to sponsor equipment for hospitals in Vietnam.

About German curator Sonja Annelies Fischer. She is a psychiatrist, an art therapist, an art teacher and an art lover, especially Vietnamese art. All of these backgrounds give her a strong passion for collecting many unique works of art.
German curator Sonja Annelies Fischer
She started collecting paintings in 2004 and has so far purchased hundreds of works by Vietnamese artists. KayserTradeGalleries, which she founded, has contributed to promoting and bridging Vietnamese art to the European public through the events she organizes. In 2017, she opened a residency for Vietnamese artists in Hoi An and became an honorary member of the Hoi An Fine Arts Association, Quang Nam, Vietnam.
