This is not the first time that the Living Fund has raised funds for sustainable development programs through the auction of works of art. Since 2013, more than 20 fundraising auctions and art performances have been successfully organized, creating a significant source of seed funding for the start-up phase of prestigious programs such as "Flood-proof House" and "Green Happiness".
The exhibition name River Oi was inspired by the novel “Siddartha” (1922) by Hermann Hesse (1877-1962) translated by Phung Khanh and Phung Thang, with the Vietnamese title “The River Story”.

In this story, thanks to the enlightened river, Siddhartha decided to become a ferryman, carrying passengers across the river. When listening to the river, Siddhartha realized that this is life, containing thousands of sounds, the wholeness in infinity and selflessness. That is why the river must flow through all rapids, all sea gates, all terrains, through all pain, joy, pleasure, sadness...
The concept of “River Story” fits well with the concept of River Oi - a third program of Song Foundation - promoting creativity, innovation and dialogue on sustainable development through art, technology and education.
Artwork by Indonesian artist Hadi Soesanto.
