Chinese electric vehicle startup XPeng has unveiled a new generation flying car, a hybrid between a car and an aircraft, capable of both driving on roads and flying in the air. The flying car series is scheduled to enter the market in 2024.

Upon its launch, the project raised over $500 million from investors, demonstrating the significant potential of Chinese businesses in the technology sector.

According to TechCrunch, the car is capable of low-altitude flight, boasts numerous safety features, and has a futuristic design thanks to its aerodynamics, while its interior is entirely high-tech. The driver will interact with a transparent infotainment system and a digital display integrated directly into the steering wheel.

Những thiết kế tưởng chừng như chỉ có trong tương lai xa xôi, sẽ được thực hiện và phát triển chỉ trong vài năm tới.

Designs that once seemed like something from the distant future will be realized and developed within the next few years.

What's remarkable is the incredibly flexible control system, capable of transforming from a normal car into a flying vehicle with its wings extended in just seconds. The car's two propellers extend from either side, allowing for vertical takeoff and landing, and they can also be folded and retracted into their proper position inside the vehicle when it's moving on the road.

Flying cars have attracted considerable attention from automakers and startups, including major players like General Motors, Toyota, and Hyundai – giants in the race to produce electric flying vehicles. However, significant challenges remain in developing and popularizing this type of vehicle, most notably safety concerns.

In addition to introducing its flying car project, XPeng also announced plans to launch the XPilot 3.5 driver assistance system, which operates using dual cameras, LiDAR, and millimeter-wave radar sensors, early next year. Furthermore, the company also introduced the latest version of its advanced driver assistance system, called XPilot 4.0.
