According to Mr. Dinh Viet Son, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, the Authority has informed aviation authorities in other countries and territories that from February 15th, Vietnam will lift restrictions on the frequency of international flights, returning to normal as before the Covid-19 pandemic.
“All markets will reopen, with no more restrictions on flight frequency or destinations,” Mr. Son said, “But the number of flights from Vietnam to other countries will still be subject to the regulations of each country. Currently, Japan and South Korea are still restricting entry for certain individuals on flights from Vietnam to prevent the spread of the disease. As for China, despite Vietnam's proposal, they have not yet agreed to operate regular flights with Vietnam.”

From January 1st, Vietnam also resumed regular passenger flights from markets including the US, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Taipei, Singapore, Australia, Russia, the UK, France, and Germany. However, due to requirements from aviation authorities in these countries and territories, as well as passenger demand, the frequency of these routes remains lower than before the Covid-19 pandemic.
