A collection that touches memories
For the first time in Vietnam, the 45th anniversary of the release of the Doraemon movie is marked by a special collection of 44 limited edition models, fully recreating the adventure journey from 1980 to 2025. Each model is like a "note" in the symphony of memories, so that anyone who has ever loved Doraemon can touch, look and see a part of their childhood in it.

At the Nikko Saigon Hotel, the journey to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Doraemon begins right from the lobby on the first floor. A giant backdrop printed with the image of the fat cat in his legendary adventures immediately attracts the eyes, like a door opening to memories. On the walkway and stairs leading to the second floor, the image of the fat cat Doraemon is enlarged on a colorful background, bringing visitors into the cartoon world of their childhood.
Backdrop is placed in the hotel lobby for visitors to take check-in photos.

Ms. Quach Nhu, Marketing & Communications Director of Nikko Saigon, said that the highlight of this exhibition space is the collection of 44 miniature models of Doraemon through 44 animated versions. The 44 models are placed in transparent display boxes, like slices of time placed side by side. From Doraemon in “Nobita's Dinosaur” - the first film released in 1980, to the latest appearance in “Nobita and the Adventure into the Picture World” released in May 2025.
Each design is different: a blue cat with two lovely bows on its head, Doraemon the “mermaid”, a majestic knight or a mysterious witch, an angel with pure white wings, a brave explorer… A few models of Doraemon and his familiar companions bring back vivid memories of movies from the 80s and 90s. Each model follows one another like a film rewinding, leading viewers back to the moment they first met the “national childhood friend”.

When memory meets present
The collection quickly became a stopover that attracted both guests and visitors. On the colorful stairs, young people enthusiastically posed for photos with the Doraemon backdrop. In another corner, guests who had passed their twenties stood silently admiring each model, sometimes smiling, sometimes lost in their memories. Doraemon in that moment was not just a cartoon character, but became a door connecting memories with the present.
“Fortunately, the hotel lobby area has a large and airy space, convenient for arranging to ensure safety while maintaining aesthetic elements at popular shooting angles such as the main hall or stairs. Thanks to that, guests can comfortably experience and check-in,” Ms. Nhu shared.

Visitors enjoy taking photos with Doraemon backdrops spread along the stairs.
Focusing on bringing experiences to customers, in addition to this special Collection, Nikko Saigon also organizes Japanese Cuisine Week - "Taste of Japan" at La Brasserie from September 22 to 28, bringing a complete taste journey with a seasonal menu and signature drinks such as sake, matcha latte and Shiso Umesu cocktail. The anime cosplay activity on social networks organized by Nikko Saigon brings a more vibrant, closer and interesting space for young Vietnamese people and international guests. Thanks to that, cuisine and culture are connected, making the event more attractive and multi-dimensional, the representative of Nikko Saigon shared more.
The fusion of cuisine, culture and memories has turned the experience with the Doraemon collection this time into more than just an exhibition – but a journey to fully enjoy the Japanese spirit in the heart of Saigon.
