For the first time in Vietnam, the 45th anniversary of the Doraemon movie's release is marked by a special collection of 44 limited-edition models, recreating the entire adventure journey from 1980 to 2025. Each model is like a "note" in the symphony of memories, allowing anyone who has ever loved Doraemon to touch, look at, and see a part of their childhood within it.
At the Nikko Saigon Hotel, the 45th anniversary celebration of Doraemon begins right in the lobby on the first floor. A giant backdrop featuring the chubby cat in his legendary adventures immediately catches the eye, like a gateway to memories. Along the walkways and stairs leading to the second floor, enlarged images of Doraemon against a vibrant backdrop transport visitors into the animated world of their childhood.

Ms. Quách Như, Marketing & Communications Director of Nikko Saigon, said that the highlight of this exhibition space is the collection of 44 miniature Doraemon models from 44 different animated films. The 44 models are placed in transparent display cases, like slices of time arranged side-by-side. From Doraemon in "Nobita's Dinosaur" - the first film released in 1980, to his latest appearance in "Nobita and the Adventure into the World in the Picture Book," which will be released in May 2025.
Each design is unique: a blue cat with two cute bows on its head, Doraemon as a "mermaid," a majestic knight, a mysterious witch, an angel with pure white wings, a courageous explorer… Some Doraemon models, along with familiar companions, bring back vivid cinematic memories from the 80s and 90s. Each model, one after another, is like a film reel being rewound, leading viewers back to the moment they first encountered this "national childhood friend."

When memory meets the present
The collection quickly became a popular stop for both hotel guests and visitors. On the brightly colored staircases, young people excitedly posed for photos against the Doraemon backdrop. In another corner, guests in their twenties stood silently admiring each model, sometimes smiling, sometimes lost in memories. In that moment, Doraemon was not just a cartoon character, but a gateway connecting memory with the present.
"Luckily, the hotel lobby area is spacious and airy, making it convenient for arranging photos while ensuring safety and maintaining the aesthetic appeal of popular photo spots like the main lobby or staircase. Thanks to this, guests can comfortably enjoy their experience and take pictures," Ms. Nhu shared.

Focusing on providing an exceptional customer experience, in addition to this special collection, Nikko Saigon is also organizing the "Taste of Japan" Japanese Food Week at La Brasserie from September 22nd to 28th, offering a complete culinary journey with authentic seasonal menus and signature drinks such as sake, matcha latte, and Shiso Umesu cocktails. The anime cosplay activities organized by Nikko Saigon on social media create a vibrant, intimate, and exciting atmosphere for Vietnamese youth and international guests. As a result, cuisine and culture are intertwined, making the event more engaging and multifaceted, a representative from Nikko Saigon added.
The interplay between cuisine, culture, and memories has transformed the experience with this Doraemon collection from a mere exhibition into a journey to fully appreciate the spirit of Japan in the heart of Saigon.
