Jonk, a French photographer, drove over 5,000 km across Southeast Europe to photograph monuments in Yugoslavia – a historical site in Serbia.

Built in the 1960s and 1970s under former president Josep Broz Tito, these monuments commemorate the Communist Party's resistance during the German occupation.

Although the monuments attracted a high percentage of tourists in the 1980s, many were abandoned or fell into poor condition after the partition of Yugoslavia. Jonk's photographs showcase both the decay and the beauty of these sculptures.
