Located approximately 40 km northwest of Dong Hoi city center, this is an ideal destination for adventurous souls, nature lovers, and those yearning to experience the most magnificent wonders that nature has bestowed upon this sun-drenched and windswept region of Central Vietnam.
Even the name itself evokes something truly wonderful - Hoan My (Perfect), not just a name, but a genuine feeling for visitors when they step inside the cave. With a depth of approximately 500 meters and an average width and height of over 100 meters, Hoan My Cave is a geological wonder hidden deep within the millions-of-years-old limestone mountains of Phong Nha - Ke Bang.
Pham Hong Thai, Director of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board, shared: “Conserving the Phong Nha - Ke Bang forest is not only a professional task, but also a responsibility to future generations. We clearly understand that tourism development cannot be separated from conservation. Therefore, the National Park has prioritized attracting community-based ecotourism models, minimizing human impact on the forest environment and rare species.”
A corner of Hoan My Cave
Hoan My Cave is not only a tourist destination but also a source of inspiration for environmental protection, green tourism development, and community engagement. By employing and training a large number of local people, especially young people from the Phong Nha-Ke Bang region, in tourism activities, tour guiding, service, and operation, this not only creates sustainable livelihoods but also spreads awareness of protecting natural resources within the local community.
After a nearly 5km trek through the forest, upon descending the natural stone gate leading into the cave, visitors will be overwhelmed by the majestic scenery that unfolds before their eyes. Gentle light filters through the vibrant stalactites, creating a world that is both real and dreamlike.

The stalactites and stalagmites at Hoan My Cave possess a delicate beauty, diverse in shape, from towering columns rising like stone spires, to rounded forms resembling Buddha statues, or hanging down like shimmering jade curtains. Each drop of water falling steadily from the cave ceiling contributes to weaving a magnificent tapestry of nature's passage of time.
Behind the presence of Hoan My Cave on the tourism map lies the dedication of Mr. Doan Xuan Tien - Chairman of Doan Gia Group, a son born and raised in Quang Tri (formerly Quang Binh). Mr. Tien shared: “My hometown of Quang Binh is where I have been connected since childhood. I want to contribute to the development of tourism in my hometown in a systematic, sustainable way, respecting nature and preserving cultural identity. For me, Hoan My Cave is not only a natural asset but also a spiritual heritage of the entire community.”

Caves with unique stalactite formations
As you explore deeper, the air inside the cave becomes cool and pleasant. The sound of trickling water blends with the wind rustling through the rocks, creating a vibrant symphony of nature, making visitors feel as if they have wandered into a fairytale world. Every step is a surprise, every viewpoint a masterpiece of nature's art.
The light reflecting from the tiny water droplets sparkles like diamonds, and the unexpectedly expansive space makes everyone step back a little, holding their breath in awe. Hoan My Cave is currently managed and exclusively exploited for tourism by Doan Gia Group - a local enterprise with a passion for ecotourism.

In addition, activities such as environmental education for local students, the "One Tree for One Tourist" program, and experiential tours combining environmental cleanup are also evidence of this destination's civilized and sustainable direction.
