The People's Committee of Krông Nô district issued an order strictly prohibiting locals and tourists from entering or leaving the Krông Nô volcanic cave area without permission following the incident where a male tourist died inside the cave.

On the morning of March 21, Mr. Tran Dang Anh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong No District, confirmed the continued issuance of documents strictly prohibiting residents and tourists from entering the Krong No volcanic cave area without permission. This decision was made following the discovery of a male tourist's body inside the cave on March 19.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Ha, Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong No District, said that in recent times, functional forces have been patrolling, posting warning signs, and prohibiting organizations and individuals from arbitrarily entering the Krong No volcanic cave system to avoid damage and negative impacts on the resources of the volcanic cave system and archaeological sites, and to prevent unfortunate incidents.

However, due to the complex terrain and the widespread distribution of cave systems, it is "very difficult" to monitor them regularly, leading to a situation where locals and tourists still freely enter and exit the cave areas.

Following the incident of the man's death in the cave, the district authorities requested the People's Committees of Nam Da, Dak Dro, Dak Sor, and Buon Choah communes to strengthen monitoring, inspection, record violations, and impose administrative penalties on offenders.

Due to the complex terrain and the widespread distribution of cave systems, it is very difficult to monitor people entering and exiting regularly.

Earlier, on the afternoon of March 19th, residents reported the discovery of a body in cave C7, located in Nam Tan village, Nam Da commune, Krong No district. The body was in a state of decomposition, emitting a foul odor, and was suspected to have been dead for about a week.

Authorities have initially identified the victim as a 38-year-old resident of Ho Chi Minh City. The accident occurred when the person was exploring the cave and fell into a 15-20 meter deep ravine, resulting in death. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation by the authorities.

Cave C7 is one of 50 caves belonging to the Krông Nô volcanic cave system. It is a long, tubular cave measuring 1,066.5 meters, making it the longest and largest volcanic lava cave in Southeast Asia. Currently, this cave system is not officially open for tourism.
