1.4 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Vietnam on August 26th.
1,442,300 doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, part of a 30 million-dose purchase contract by Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC), arrived in Ho Chi Minh City in two shipments on the afternoon and evening of August 26th. The afternoon shipment included 524,300 doses, while the nighttime shipment included 918,000 doses. The vaccines underwent customs clearance procedures and were transferred to VNVC's cold storage facility.
This is the first time that AstraZeneca has delivered two separate shipments in the same day, and it is also the day VNVC received the largest quantity of vaccines ever. In the past eight weeks, a shipment has been delivered every week.
This also marks the 10th and 11th vaccine deliveries from AstraZeneca. To date, nearly 8.2 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines under VNVC's purchase contract have been delivered, equivalent to 27.3% of the contract.

One million doses of Pfizer vaccine donated by the US arrived in Vietnam on August 26th.
Of the 1,065,870 doses of Pfizer vaccine donated to Vietnam, 533,520 doses arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of August 25th, 269,100 doses arrived in Hanoi on the morning of August 26th, and 263,250 doses will arrive in Hanoi on the morning of August 27th.
Earlier on August 25, US Vice President Kamala Harris announced an additional aid package of over 1 million vaccine doses to Vietnam following talks with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Thus far, the US has donated over 6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Vietnam, including 5 million doses of Moderna and over 1 million doses of Pfizer.

300,000 doses of AstraZeneca Romania vaccine were donated to Vietnam on August 25th.
On August 25th, a symbolic ceremony to receive 300,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the Romanian government to Vietnam took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.
Previously, immediately following the telephone conversation between President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis on July 14th, and based on a letter from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Romanian Prime Minister Florin Citu on July 19th, Romania decided to increase the number of vaccine doses donated to Vietnam to 300,000, three times the initial estimate; while emphasizing that Vietnam is the first Asian country to receive vaccine aid from Romania.
501,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from Poland were donated to Vietnam on August 21st.
On the morning of August 23, the Ministry of Health received 501,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the Polish government to Vietnam for epidemic prevention and control.
This batch of vaccines was announced by the Polish government as a donation to Vietnam on August 17th, along with the provision of essential medical equipment worth $4 million. Poland is also ready to transfer 3 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Vietnam.

On August 21st, this batch of vaccines arrived at Noi Bai Airport and was subsequently stored in the warehouse of the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. It is expected that the shipment of essential medical equipment for the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic will be delivered to Vietnam by Poland in early September.
Italy is providing Vietnam with 801,600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
On August 25th, the Italian government decided to donate 801,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Vietnam through the COVAX mechanism to support Vietnam's response to the Covid-19 pandemic. These vaccines are expected to be shipped and delivered to Vietnam in early September.
This is the result of high-level lobbying, including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sending a letter to Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi requesting vaccine support, and the lobbying efforts undertaken by the Government's Task Force on Vaccine Diplomacy in recent times.

To date, Vietnam has received more than 25 million doses of various types of Covid-19 vaccines from the following sources: the COVAX mechanism, contracts with Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC), purchases by the Ministry of Health, and aid from foreign governments. Vietnam has administered over 18.52 million doses.
