1.4 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Vietnam on August 26
1,442,300 doses of Covid-19 AstraZeneca vaccine, part of the contract to purchase 30 million doses from Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC), were divided into two batches to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon and evening of August 26. The batch of vaccines arriving in the afternoon had 524,300 doses, the batch arriving at night had 918,000 doses. The vaccines went through customs procedures and were transferred to VNVC's cold storage.
This is the first time AstraZeneca has delivered two different batches on the same day, and it is also the day VNVC has received the largest number of vaccines ever. In the past 8 weeks, there has been a batch delivered every week.
This is also the 10th and 11th vaccine deliveries of AstraZeneca. To date, nearly 8.2 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine under VNVC's purchase contract have been delivered, equivalent to 27.3% of the contract.

1 million doses of Pfizer vaccine donated by the US to Vietnam on August 26
Of the 1,065,870 doses of Pfizer vaccine donated by the US to Vietnam, 533,520 doses arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of August 25, 269,100 doses arrived in Hanoi on the morning of August 26, and 263,250 doses will arrive in Hanoi on the morning of August 27.
Earlier on August 25, US Vice President Kamala Harris announced the provision of more than 1 million vaccine doses to Vietnam after talks with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Thus, the US has so far donated more than 6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Vietnam, including 5 million Moderna doses and more than 1 million Pfizer doses.

300,000 doses of AstraZeneca Vaccine Romania donated to Vietnam on August 25
On August 25, the symbolic reception ceremony of 300,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated to Vietnam by the Romanian Government took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Previously, immediately after the phone call between President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis on July 14, as well as on the basis of a letter from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Romanian Prime Minister Florin Citu on July 19, the Romanian side decided to increase the number of vaccine aid to Vietnam to 300,000 doses, three times higher than the original plan; at the same time, emphasizing that Vietnam is the first Asian country to which Romania has provided vaccine aid.
501,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by Poland to Vietnam on August 21
On the morning of August 23, the Ministry of Health received 501,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the Polish Government to Vietnam to prevent and fight the epidemic.
The Polish Government announced on August 17 that it would donate this batch of vaccines to Vietnam, along with essential medical equipment worth 4 million USD. Poland is also willing to transfer 3 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Vietnam.

On August 21, this batch of vaccines arrived at Noi Bai airport and was then stored at the warehouse of the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. It is expected that the batch of essential medical equipment serving the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic will be transferred by Poland to Vietnam in early September.
Italy donates 801,600 doses of ASTRAZENECA vaccine to Vietnam
On August 25, the Italian Government decided to donate 801,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Vietnam through the COVAX mechanism to support Vietnam's response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The vaccines are expected to be transported and delivered to Vietnam in early September.
This is the result of high-level advocacy, including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sending a letter to Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi requesting vaccine support and advocacy efforts that the Government's Working Group on Vaccine Diplomacy has deployed in recent times.

To date, Vietnam has received more than 25 million doses of various types of Covid-19 vaccines, from the following sources: the COVAX mechanism, the contract purchased by Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC), the Ministry of Health, and aid from foreign governments. Vietnam has administered over 18.52 million doses.
