The Government has just issued Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP dated March 7, 2025, on visa exemption for citizens of the following countries: Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of France, Republic of Italy, Kingdom of Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russian Federation, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, and Republic of Finland.
The resolution states that visa requirements are waived for citizens of the following countries: the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of France, the Republic of Italy, the Kingdom of Spain, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Russian Federation, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Kingdom of Sweden, the Kingdom of Norway, and the Republic of Finland, for a temporary stay of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry, provided they fully meet the entry conditions stipulated by Vietnamese law.

The visa exemption policy for citizens of the aforementioned countries entering Vietnam will be in effect from March 15, 2025 to March 14, 2028 and will be reviewed for extension in accordance with Vietnamese law.
Government Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP dated March 15, 2022 and Government Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP dated August 14, 2023 cease to be effective from March 15, 2025.
In the first two months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed 3.96 million international visitors, a 30.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This groundbreaking move by the government to relax visa regulations is expected to be a catalyst for Vietnam's tourism industry, aiming to attract 22-23 million international visitors in 2025.
