Accordingly, 3 million doses of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine will arrive in Vietnam this week. This batch of vaccines is a donation from the US government through the Covax facility program.
On the same day, the Ministry of Health announced that Pfizer had agreed to increase the number of Covid-19 vaccines supplied to Vietnam in the third quarter from 3 million to 3.5 million doses and agreed to sell an additional 20 million doses in 2021, bringing the total number of Pfizer vaccines expected to be sold to Vietnam to 51 million doses, an increase of 20 million doses compared to the original plan.
Thus, in addition to the 105 million doses already committed and contracted, and 70 million doses under negotiation and potentially to be signed, Vietnam is expected to receive a total of 175 million doses in 2021 and early 2022. To date, Vietnam has received more than 10.6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine, of which 7.1 million are AstraZeneca; Moderna (2 million doses), Pfizer (194,200 doses)...

Regarding vaccination progress, to date, Vietnam has administered a total of 4,283,906 doses of Covid-19 vaccine, of which: 3,977,431 people have received one dose; and 306,475 people have received two doses.
Professor Dang Duc Anh also stated that approximately 26 million doses of vaccine will arrive in Vietnam in the third quarter of this year, and about 65.5 million doses in the fourth quarter. The total for the two quarters is approximately 91.5 million doses, including about 20 million doses of Pfizer vaccine for children under 18 years old.
The Ministry of Health further stated that Vietnam has reached agreements on the transfer of vaccine technology from the US and Russia, as well as agreements to support domestic units in accelerating clinical trials and ensuring compliance with proper, scientific, and objective procedures.
