Vietnam temporarily suspends health declarations for entry into the country from April 27th.

The Ministry of Health has just issued a notice guiding medical quarantine activities for people entering Vietnam. Accordingly, all border gates will temporarily suspend the application of Covid-19 health declarations for entrants from 00:00 on April 27th.

According to the Ministry of Health, this decision was made in light of the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic has been recorded in most countries around the world, and there are now specific and effective vaccines against the currently circulating SARS-CoV-2 virus strains. In addition, the pandemic has recently shown a downward trend in both the number of cases and deaths globally and in Vietnam.

This decision eases pandemic prevention and control measures, facilitating the entry and exit of citizens and tourists to Vietnam. However, provinces will continue to monitor incoming passengers at border gates in accordance with the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases regarding border health quarantine.

Previously, the Ministry of Health adjusted some epidemic control policies, such as not isolating F1 cases, and allowing F0 cases to be isolated and go to work. Ho Chi Minh City also recently announced the simplification of many medical procedures for incoming passengers at Tan Son Nhat Airport, eliminating checks for individuals with negative nCoV test results.

According to Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son, the regulation requiring domestic health declarations will also be terminated in the near future, but the specific date is currently unclear.
