During the preferential trial period, lasting from April 18 to May 15, 2025, 10 modern electric cars will operate continuously on the main route connecting Phu Long Cable Car Station with Xanh Island Central Bay, the heart of Cat Ba town. These smooth rides will become a convenient, completely free bridge, helping visitors easily move and enjoy memorable moments on the pearl island.
In order to meet the increasing demand of tourists, especially during the peak season of island tourism, from May 16, 2025, the number of electric cars serving on this route will be doubled to 20. With an average frequency of up to 150 trips per day, tourists can be completely assured of the convenience and speed of travel.

In particular, visitors choosing to travel by Sun World Cat Ba cable car can comfortably park their personal vehicles at the spacious and safe parking lot of Cat Hai Station, and enjoy special offers with a one-way cable car ticket price of only 50,000 VND/passenger, valid until December 31, 2025.
Also in May 2025, Cat Ba will welcome a new means of transport, which are compact and flexible electric buggies. These vehicles are expected to be put into operation to serve tourists traveling from Cat Ba Marina in Dong Ho Bay to the central bay of Xanh Island, and can flexibly take tourists to beautiful beaches and attractive tourist destinations in the Xanh Island area.

Not only focusing on road traffic, Cat Ba also strives to improve its waterway transport system. Two new high-speed boat routes will soon be put into operation, significantly shortening travel time for tourists.
The Cat Hai - Cat Ba route has been officially operated since April 18, taking passengers from Cat Hai Marina (next to Dong Bai ferry terminal) to Cat Ba Marina (Dong Ho Bay) in just about 25 minutes. Next, the Ha Long - Cat Ba route is expected to be put into operation from May 17, 2025, departing from Ha Long International Passenger Port and arriving at Cat Ba Marina (Dong Ho Bay) with a travel time of about 50 minutes.

According to information from the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city, Cat Ba tourism has set an ambitious goal of welcoming 4 million visitors in 2025. With continuous efforts to improve service quality and diversify experiences, Cat Ba tourism has achieved positive results in the first quarter of 2025, with 491,230 visitors, reaching 12.3% of the yearly plan and an impressive growth of 20.1% over the same period in 2024.
Of which, the number of international visitors is estimated at 277,310, reaching 24.1% of the yearly plan and increasing by 8.3% over the same period last year. Revenue from accommodation and catering services in the first three months of 2025 of Cat Ba tourism is estimated at VND441.1 billion, equivalent to 12.1% of the yearly plan and growing strongly by 25.5% over the same period in 2024. These promising figures show the increasing attractiveness of Cat Ba on the Vietnamese and international tourism map.
The journey of greening this land creates favorable conditions for sustainable tourism development.
The continuous efforts in improving the transportation system, especially the implementation of free tram routes and new high-speed boat routes, not only demonstrate the deep concern of local authorities and tourism units for visitors' experiences, but also an important step forward in building the image of a green, friendly and sustainably developed Cat Ba.
