During a trial period with attractive incentives, from April 18th to May 15th, 2025, 10 modern electric vehicles will operate continuously on the main route connecting Phu Long Cable Car Station with Green Island Central Bay, the heart of Cat Ba town. These comfortable vehicles will become a convenient, completely free link, helping tourists easily travel and enjoy memorable moments on the pearl island.
To meet the growing demand of tourists, especially during the peak season for beach and island tourism, from May 16, 2025, the number of electric vehicles serving this route will be doubled to 20. With an average operating frequency of up to 150 trips per day, tourists can rest assured of convenient and fast transportation.

In particular, visitors choosing to travel by Sun World Cat Ba cable car can conveniently park their personal vehicles in the spacious and secure parking lot of Cat Hai Station, and enjoy a special offer with a one-way cable car ticket price of only 50,000 VND/person, valid until December 31, 2025.
Also in May 2025, Cat Ba will welcome a new mode of transportation: compact and versatile electric buggies. These vehicles are expected to be put into operation to transport tourists from Cat Ba Marina in Dong Ho Bay to the central Green Island Bay, and will also provide flexible transportation to beautiful beaches and attractive tourist destinations within the Green Island area.

Besides focusing on road transport, Cat Ba is also striving to improve its waterway transport system. Two new high-speed ferry routes will soon be put into operation, significantly shortening travel time for tourists.
The Cat Hai - Cat Ba route officially commenced operations on April 18th, transporting passengers from Cat Hai Marina (located next to Dong Bai ferry terminal) to Cat Ba Marina (Dong Ho Bay) in approximately 25 minutes. Following this, the Ha Long - Cat Ba route is expected to begin operations on May 17th, 2025, departing from Ha Long International Cruise Port and arriving at Cat Ba Marina (Dong Ho Bay) with a travel time of approximately 50 minutes.
This is an opportunity for Cat Ba to enhance the visitor experience.
According to information from the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Cat Hai District, Hai Phong City, Cat Ba tourism has set an ambitious target of welcoming 4 million tourists in 2025. With continuous efforts in improving service quality and diversifying experiences, Cat Ba tourism has achieved positive results in the first quarter of 2025, with 491,230 visitors, reaching 12.3% of the annual plan and an impressive growth of 20.1% compared to the same period in 2024.
Of that total, the number of international visitors is estimated at 277,310, reaching 24.1% of the annual plan and increasing by 8.3% compared to the same period last year. Revenue from accommodation and food services in the first three months of 2025 in Cat Ba tourism is estimated at VND 441.1 billion, equivalent to 12.1% of the annual plan and showing strong growth of 25.5% compared to the same period in 2024. These promising figures demonstrate the increasing attractiveness of Cat Ba on the Vietnamese and international tourism map.
The ongoing efforts to green this land create favorable conditions for the development of sustainable tourism.
The ongoing efforts to improve the transportation system, especially the deployment of free tram services and new high-speed ferry routes, not only demonstrate the deep concern of the local government and tourism businesses for the visitor experience, but also represent a significant step in building the image of a green, friendly, and sustainably developed Cat Ba.
