Reporting to the National Assembly on the afternoon of July 25th, Minister Nguyen Thanh Long stated that in July alone, approximately over 12 million doses of vaccine will be delivered to localities experiencing outbreaks; leading economic provinces and cities; and other provinces, to vaccinate priority groups in accordance with Government Resolution 21 and at the request of local authorities.
To date, we have secured commitments, agreements, contracts, and received significant aid from China, the US, Japan, Australia, the UK, and other countries, totaling over 130 million doses, and are currently negotiating for over 40 million more doses to bring the total to 170 million vaccine doses in 2021.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Long also stated that currently, Vietnam has signed three technology transfer contracts with Russia, the United States, and Japan. With Russia, we have completed phase 1 of processing and packaging the Sputnik-V vaccine into vials, and it is currently undergoing quality testing in Russia. In August, the vaccine will be packaged in Vietnam, and the technology transfer phase will begin at the end of this year.
Regarding the contract with the US, the transfer of the most advanced vaccine technology will begin testing in August. A manufacturing plant with a capacity of over 100 million doses has been constructed and is preparing to become operational in the first six months of 2022.

Currently, the nationwide vaccination campaign has been launched and is being accelerated from now until the end of the year, the Minister emphasized.
