Eighteen countries waive quarantine for travelers who have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

The availability of vaccines has somewhat eased the pressure on the tourism industry. Many countries have opened their borders and are ready to welcome vaccinated and healthy tourists.

Note: Before deciding to travel to a distant place, research the pandemic situation in that area/country and the regulations and laws regarding Covid-19 prevention to ensure a smooth and safe trip.

Travelers who have already planned to get vaccinated may consider the following destinations:

Thailand

Currently, only Phuket Island in Thailand is welcoming vaccinated tourists. This beautiful island will not require quarantine upon arrival. The rest of Thailand will also lift quarantine requirements for vaccinated tourists in the fall, after the vaccination program reaches 70% of the national population.

France

France is open to vaccinated travelers from certain countries, as per European regulations. French authorities will require procedures depending on the safety level of the traveler's country of origin. Travelers from "green" countries will be allowed entry without testing after being vaccinated two weeks prior. Travelers from "orange" countries will have to demonstrate a negative test result within 72 hours of entry. All travelers to France will be required to complete a pre-arrival declaration.

Spain

Spain welcomes vaccinated travelers regardless of nationality. Unvaccinated travelers can only enter Spain if their country has a low risk of infection. Eligible travelers will have to undergo a Covid-19 test within 72 hours of entry.

Denmark

Denmark is opening its doors to vaccinated travelers from certain countries. These travelers will not be required to be tested before entry and will also be exempt from quarantine.

However, the country only accepts visitors who have been vaccinated with the following vaccines: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson.

Denmark will accept unvaccinated visitors in the following cases: children traveling with their parents or pregnant/breastfeeding women. These individuals will be required to undergo testing before entry.

Greece

Greece is rushing to finalize plans to reopen to vaccinated tourists, hoping to do so in time for the peak summer tourist season.

This country only allows entry to travelers who have been vaccinated two weeks prior or have tested negative for Covid-19 within the past 72 hours. In addition to vaccination certificates or negative Covid-19 test results, travelers to Greece will also be required to complete a health declaration as mandated by the local authorities.

Iceland

Vaccinated travelers can enter Iceland without undergoing mandatory tests or quarantine.

In addition, the country also welcomes tourists who have recovered from the SARS-Cov-2 virus.

Israel

Israel also welcomes vaccinated tourists, however the country will reopen gradually. Initially, Israel will grant entry permits to certain tour groups. By July, the country is expected to allow individual travelers.

All travelers to Israel will be required to take a test before boarding their flight and must prove a negative result upon arrival.

Croatia

Vaccinated travelers do not need to prove a negative test result or self-isolate at home before arriving in Croatia. However, the country requires that travelers can only enter after 14 days of vaccination.

Unvaccinated travelers must demonstrate a negative Covid-19 test result within 48 hours of entry. Children under 7 years old traveling with their parents or legal guardians are exempt from this procedure. This group of travelers will be tested on the 10th day of their stay if the trip is extended.

Regardless of whether they have been vaccinated or not, tourists will have to provide information about their accommodation in Croatia and prove that all payments have been completed.

Ecuador

Vaccinated travelers are welcome to Ecuador. Unvaccinated individuals must demonstrate a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours of entry or proof of recovery.

Guests will be required to adhere to social distancing regulations at their accommodation and must wear face masks throughout their stay.

The Bahamas welcomes visitors who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 with the following vaccines: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, or AstraZeneca. These visitors will be exempt from pre- and post-entry testing.

Additionally, the Bahamas is open to unvaccinated travelers, but requires proof of a negative SARS-CoV-2 test result within five days prior to entry. Travelers will have to complete daily health declarations and undergo rapid testing on the fifth day of their trip.

Children under 10 years old will be exempt from testing.

All visitors to the Bahamas will need to apply for a Bahamas Tourist Health Visa and must purchase Covid-19 health insurance.

Bermuda

This Central American country has stricter policies, even for vaccinated travelers. Those entering the country must obtain a travel permit, including proof of a negative Covid-19 test result within three days of arrival. Upon arrival, travelers will still be required to undergo Covid-19 testing and quarantine while awaiting results. Once results are available, vaccinated travelers will no longer be required to quarantine but will be tested again on the fourth, eighth, and fourteenth days of their trip.

Belize

Belize will waive testing requirements for passengers who can prove they have been fully vaccinated. However, international travelers will have to book rooms at qualified hotels and download the country's health tracking app.

Belize also welcomes non-vaccinated visitors provided they have a negative Covid-19 test result obtained within 96 hours (48 hours for a rapid test) before departure. Visitors can also get tested at the airport after arrival for a fee of US$50 (approximately VND 1 million).

Virgin Islands

The Central American islands will still require quarantine for vaccinated travelers, but only for a short period. International travelers will have to demonstrate a negative Covid-19 test result within five days of entry and will still be required to take a test upon arrival and quarantine while awaiting the results.

However, the island nation will not require further testing for travelers who have already completed immigration procedures.

Unvaccinated travelers will still be welcome but will have to quarantine for four days and be tested on the last day of quarantine, even if they have already completed pre- and post-entry testing.

Polynesia

The French islands welcome visitors who have completed their vaccinations within the past 30 days. Before arriving in Polynesia, visitors must complete an online declaration form. Upon arrival, visitors will undergo their first test at the airport and a second test on the fourth day of their trip.

Georgia

Vaccinated travelers to Georgia will not be required to take a pre-departure test or quarantine upon arrival.

The country also welcomes unvaccinated visitors provided they can demonstrate a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours of entry. These visitors will be required to undergo further testing on their third day of stay and provide complete contact information and travel history.

Seychelles

Seychelles is open to vaccinated travelers regardless of their country of origin. The island nation will require visitors to prove they completed their vaccination two weeks prior to entry. Before entering, visitors will also have to demonstrate a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours.

Travelers must complete the necessary travel permit procedures, including: vaccination certificate, test results, flight confirmation, and accommodation information.

The country will open its doors to unvaccinated tourists once the majority of its population is vaccinated.

St. Barts

The French island nation is also open to vaccinated tourists. However, these tourists must still be tested 48 hours before arrival.

Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis

The Caribbean island nation, with its low number of Covid-19 cases (74 infections), has opened its doors to fully vaccinated international tourists. Those vaccinated with Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, or AstraZeneca vaccines must wait two weeks before entering Saint Kitts and Nevis. Tourists must also stay in licensed hotels for the first week of their trip. If the stay exceeds one week, testing is required.
