After making a big impact with numerous Haute Couture collections that proved his top-tier status in the Vietnamese design industry, designer Nguyen Cong Tri officially opened the first-ever Vietnam International Fashion Week Autumn/Winter, held in Hanoi from November 1st to 6th, 2016.

Having previously held this important role at the first Vietnam International Fashion Week and the recent Spring/Summer season, designer Nguyen Cong Tri has presented outfits imbued with a futuristic spirit, making fashion enthusiasts both domestically and internationally feel as if they are living in the age of digital media. His luxurious yet highly wearable designs in the "Rice" collection affirm Nguyen Cong Tri's Haute Couture design đẳng cấp. Although this is not his first time as the opening designer for Vietnam International Fashion Week, Nguyen Cong Tri said he is very excited but also nervous awaiting the show day, to continue introducing the most sophisticated and exquisite outfits to fashion lovers.

That is, La Thanh Thanh – the runner-up of Vietnam's Next Top Model season 7, the girl with the record-breaking short stature of 1.54m – was officially chosen by the designer to open his show. This was truly unexpected, as everyone in the fashion world knows Nguyen Cong Tri as a strict and perfectionist designer in his work and in his designs. Professional models who walk in his shows are either girls and boys with perfect height and figures down to the last centimeter, or seasoned and well-known faces in the Vietnamese fashion industry.
