India is vibrant and rich in history and culture. From the Sadhus in Varanasi – where the ashes of the dead are burned and scattered on the Ganges River so they can be reborn – to the monks in Darjeeling, photographer Mehdi Hasan has traveled across India, observing and capturing truly remarkable images.

Mehdi Hasan is a visual artist. He was often drawn to working with images and artistic objects. But then social pressure and negative issues disillusioned him, and he began traveling, gradually developing a passion for photographing people in different cultures.

India is a destination with a diverse range of ethnicities, religions, and customs. Furthermore, it is the world's second most populous country and one of the world's leading economies. Although it is the origin of Buddhism, today 80% of India's population follows Islam and Hinduism, while the remaining 20% are Christian, Jain, and Sikh. This country holds countless fascinating and intriguing aspects that always pique the curiosity of tourists.

Here are some photos taken by Mehdi.
