The Sony World Photography Awards is a famous international photo competition held annually on a large scale in the world. This year, the competition has the participation of professional and amateur photographers from more than 70 countries around the world. Below is the work of Kyaw Win Hlaing about the active volcano Bromo in East Java (Indonesia). According to the photographer: "This photo was taken at Mount Bromo, an active volcano and part of the Tengger mountain range in East Java, Indonesia. The name of the mountain comes from the Indo people's reverence for Brahma, the Hindu god of creation.

The impressive photo titled "Tokyo after the storm" by photographer Zhaoting Wu captures the moment the first rays of light shine through the clouds onto Tokyo (Japan) after a big storm.

A woman working in the snow and wind in China is a work of photographer Zhou Jianguang.

The winning entry in the Portrait category was taken by photographer Tina Signesdottir Hult. The Norwegian photographer said: “This is a photograph I took of Lina. She is very special and meaningful to me. We have worked together for many years, since she was 9 years old. The way we communicate, almost like a silent dance, we understand each other very well.”

"Walking on U-Bein Bridge" in Myanmar. U-Bein is a wooden bridge connecting the two banks of the Taungthamna River located on the outskirts of Myanmar's ancient capital Mandalay since 1850. Singaporean photographer Chin Bong Leng waited for hours to capture a horse race at sunset in Xinjiang. The stunning photo shows the vastness of nature and the generosity of the people and animals there.

This rare photo was taken by photographer Brendon Cremer when he captured a leopard "quenching its thirst" at a water puddle in Zimanga (South Africa). The distance between the photographer and the leopard was breathtaking. The author shared that this was truly an "once in a lifetime" experience.

The second impressive winning photo in the Travel category is a photo of a woman rowing a boat on a river in the middle of a cajuput forest in Dong Thap (Vietnam) from above by photographer Pham Huy Trung.

Third place is a photo of a rural field in Vietnam by photographer Vinh Dao.

According to the Organizing Committee, the winning works of the Sony World Photography Awards 2018 will be exhibited in London from April 20 to May 6, 2018.
