According to information from the People's Committee of Yen Dung district, the ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing Vinh Nghiem Pagoda Festival as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage will take place on March 12, 2014 (corresponding to the 12th day of the 2nd lunar month) at Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Tri Yen commune, Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province.

The ceremony will include activities such as: Procession of offerings; incense burning; a grand prayer ceremony for peace and prosperity for the nation; an exhibition of images and documents about the collection of wooden printing blocks at Vinh Nghiem Pagoda… Cultural performances, sports activities, and folk games will also take place throughout the festival.
Yen Dung District has identified this as an opportunity to promote and introduce the cultural, historical, and architectural values of Vinh Nghiem Pagoda; the Vinh Nghiem Pagoda Woodblock Collection, recognized by UNESCO as a World Documentary Heritage site in the Asia-Pacific region; and the Vinh Nghiem Pagoda Festival, a national intangible cultural heritage… to attract domestic and international tourists and people in the province to visit, worship, and pray to Buddha.
The 2014 Vinh Nghiem Pagoda festival is expected to welcome approximately 1,200 tourists and thousands of Buddhist followers.
