According to news from the People's Committee of Yen Dung district, the ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing Vinh Nghiem Pagoda Festival as a national intangible cultural heritage will take place on March 12, 2014 (ie February 12 of the lunar calendar) at Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Tri Yen commune, Yen Dung district, Bac Giang.
At the ceremony, there will be activities such as: Offering procession; incense burning; Great ceremony to pray for peace and prosperity for the nation; exhibition of images and documents about the Vinh Nghiem Pagoda woodblock warehouse... Cultural activities, sports, and folk games will also take place throughout the festival.
Yen Dung district identified this as an opportunity to propagate, promote and introduce the cultural, historical and architectural values of Vinh Nghiem pagoda; Vinh Nghiem pagoda woodblock warehouse recognized by UNESCO as a World Documentary Heritage in the Asia - Pacific region; Vinh Nghiem pagoda festival as a national intangible cultural heritage... for domestic and foreign tourists and people in the province to visit, worship and worship Buddha.
It is expected that the 2014 Vinh Nghiem Pagoda festival will welcome about 1,200 tourists and thousands of Buddhists.
