Bach Nien Hy Su - a work of interweaving the quintessence of traditional culture and art, formed from the delicate combination of Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh - a place that creates a resort space imbued with the soul of the Northern countryside, with Dong Phong - a unit dedicated to researching and restoring ancient Vietnamese costumes from the 10th to 20th centuries and young artist Pho Ngan, who is passionate about and preserves traditional beauty through each nostalgic stroke.
“A Hundred Years of Joy” takes visitors into the space where traditional Vietnamese wedding ceremonies take place.
A hundred-year-old wedding painting – from traditional costumes to ceremonies
The exhibition “A Hundred Years of Joy” opens a journey that takes visitors back in time, into a space where traditional Vietnamese wedding rituals are vividly recreated through four stages: from the engagement ceremony, the bride-picking ceremony, to the wedding ceremony and the wedding party. The entire story fully depicts the customs, rituals and costumes of many social classes, ranging from the royal court to folk life, from the Northern Delta with its strict “three books and six ceremonies”, or the solemnity and sophistication in the rituals of the Central region to the generosity and liberality of the Southern river region.

The original ancient costumes are meticulously and elaborately restored.
Contributing to the creation of that historical picture, Dong Phong brings original ancient costumes that are meticulously restored in every material, pattern and shape, reflecting the beauty as well as the social status of each period. At the same time, artist Pho Ngan brings a collection of unique sketches and illustrations exclusively for Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh, recording the special and sacred moments of the great wedding day, like a vivid chronicle in color.

Art space in the heart of Van Long
Held at Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh - a resort with a strong impression of the Northern countryside, the exhibition is set up in the middle of a lotus pond, bamboo groves, and fruit gardens in the romantic autumn weather, bringing visitors back to an ancient Vietnamese village hundreds of years ago. During the event, visitors have the opportunity to better understand the wedding journey over the past 100 years of our ancestors, learn about the custom of betel leaves and phoenix wings, or experience natural fabric dyeing, inviting visitors to touch the traditional fabric dyeing process, listen to stories about colors symbolizing love, loyalty and a hundred-year blessing.
