NEC and Kimuraya announced that their new product, available in five flavors, captures the emotional essence that many of us associate with love.
Interestingly, according to the two companies' statements, NEC used AI technology to analyze conversations from a reality dating show called "Today I Fell In Love," along with 35,000 songs mentioning love and food.
Through analysis, the company identified five key emotions in love: first encounter, first date, jealousy, heartbreak, and mutual love. NEC then collaborated with Kimuraya to transform these five emotions into different types of soft, fluffy bread with unique flavors.
The "Fated Encounter" bread has a cotton candy flavor, symbolizing the sweet emotions of first love. The "Jealousy" bread has purple sweet potato, truffle oil, and raisins. The "First Date" bread has lemon and orange flavors, while "Falling in Love" bread has the sweet taste of honey, peach, and dragon fruit.
The "Tears of Heartbreak" cake has a cider and grape flavor.
By collaborating with AI to create cakes with a love-themed flavor, the shop aims to increase the appeal of its products to young people. Through market research, Kimuraya discovered that an increasing number of young people are uninterested in romantic relationships, even though they still hope to find a life partner to spend their lives with.
AI-powered bread products recreate romantic flavors to evoke feelings of love when diners eat them, thereby inspiring young people to incorporate those romantic feelings into their personal lives.
This type of cake has been available for sale since February 1st at supermarkets in Japan's Kanto region and on Kimuraya Bakery's online store.
