The Oceanographic Museum has officially launched a completely new and impressive exhibition space: "Mysterious Ocean". This event not only marks an important step in popularizing marine science knowledge to the public but also promises to become a new highlight, attracting visitors who love to explore and learn about the ocean.
Located in the Hon Chong hill area, Bac Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa, the "Mysterious Ocean" exhibition area is uniquely and elaborately designed, recreating the journey of discovery from the sea surface to a depth of 6,000 m. This is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The goal of the project is to bring the public to scientific knowledge in a visual and vivid way, thereby arousing passion and awareness for protecting the marine environment.

The most special and attractive feature of the "Mysterious Ocean" exhibition area is the arrangement according to the deep layers of the ocean, realistically simulating the changes of natural conditions such as light and pressure. Visitors will be able to "dive" into each layer of water, each layer has its own story and beauty. Mr. Truong Si Hai Trinh, Deputy Head of the Information and Communication Department of the Institute of Oceanography, shared that each exhibition floor is a piece of the puzzle, stimulating curiosity and the desire to explore the natural world.

The light floor is the starting point of the journey, where visitors enter the "tropical forest" of the ocean. The sunlight is still enough to sustain the life of a diverse ecosystem, where colorful marine life and fierce predatory fish live. This space brings a lively, fresh feeling, an impressive welcome to an exciting adventure.
Next is the twilight and eternal darkness layer, where sunlight only flickers. Here, visitors will admire a completely different world. This area focuses on introducing the bioluminescence phenomenon of living creatures, where they create a mesmerizing "light dance" to survive and communicate. At the same time, images of the phenomenon of "marine snow" - the continuous flow of organic matter from the upper water layer to the seabed - are also vividly recreated, showing the close connection of marine ecosystems.

Finally, the journey will take visitors to the endless abyss, the kingdom of eternal darkness. This is a place of extreme pressure and cold temperature. The creatures living in this layer have strange shapes, adapted to the harsh environment. Exploring this area not only brings a feeling of thrill and excitement but also helps the public understand more about the strong vitality of nature, even in places that seem impossible for life to exist.

"Mysterious Ocean" is not only a simple scientific exhibition area but also a major theme in the "Ocean World through the Cosmic Lens" exhibition complex of the Oceanographic Museum in 2025. Each artifact and each story told here contains a strong message about the majesty of the natural world, while also conveying the desire to ignite the passion for discovery and a sense of responsibility to protect the blue ocean.

By opening free of charge to all visitors for the first two weeks, from September 2 to September 15, 2025, the Oceanographic Museum has created the most favorable conditions for the public, especially young people and students, to have the opportunity to access and learn about the mysteries of the ocean. This is a practical step, contributing to raising public awareness of the importance of the ocean, thereby spreading the message of protecting the marine environment, an urgent task of humanity.

The birth of the "Mysterious Ocean" exhibition area is not only a scientific milestone but also a meaningful cultural and tourist event, affirming the role of the Oceanographic Museum in connecting knowledge with life. With unique experiences, this exhibition area promises to become an unmissable destination for anyone visiting Nha Trang in the near future.
