The Oceanographic Museum has officially launched a brand-new and impressive exhibition space: "The Mysterious Ocean". This event not only marks a significant step in disseminating marine scientific knowledge to the public but also promises to become a fresh highlight, attracting visitors who love exploring and learning about the ocean.
Located on Hon Chong Hill, Bac Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province, the "Mysterious Ocean" exhibition is uniquely and elaborately designed, recreating the journey of exploration from the sea surface to a depth of 6,000 meters. This is part of a series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The project aims to bring scientific knowledge to the public in a visual and vivid way, thereby arousing passion and awareness for protecting the marine environment.

The most unique and captivating feature of the "Mysterious Ocean" exhibition is its arrangement based on the ocean's depths, realistically simulating the changes in natural conditions such as light and pressure. Visitors can "dive" down to each water layer, each with its own story and beauty. Mr. Truong Si Hai Trinh, Deputy Head of the Information and Communication Department of the Institute of Oceanography, shared that each exhibition layer is a piece of the puzzle, sparking curiosity and a desire to explore the natural world.

The illuminated level marks the beginning of the journey, where visitors step into the ocean's "tropical jungle." Sunlight remains sufficient to sustain the diverse ecosystem, home to vibrant marine life and formidable predatory fish. This space offers a lively, fresh atmosphere, a striking welcome to an exciting adventure.
Next is the twilight and eternal darkness layer, where sunlight is only faintly visible. Here, visitors will witness a completely different world. This area focuses on showcasing the bioluminescence of marine organisms, where they create a mesmerizing "dance of light" for survival and communication. Simultaneously, images of "sea snow"—the continuous flow of organic matter from the upper water layers to the seabed—are vividly recreated, demonstrating the close interconnectedness of marine ecosystems.

Finally, the journey will take visitors to the endless abyss, the kingdom of eternal darkness. This is a place of extreme pressure and freezing temperatures. The creatures living in this layer have bizarre shapes, adapted to the harsh environment. Exploring this area not only provides a thrilling and exciting experience but also helps the public better understand the indomitable spirit of nature, even in places where life seems impossible.

"Mysterious Oceans" is not just a simple science exhibition, but also a major theme within the "Ocean World Through the Lens of Space" exhibition complex of the Oceanographic Museum in 2025. Each exhibit and each story told here contains a powerful message about the magnificence of the natural world, while also conveying the desire to ignite a passion for exploration and a sense of responsibility to protect the blue ocean.

By offering free admission to all visitors for the first two weeks, from September 2nd to September 15th, 2025, the Oceanographic Museum has created the most favorable conditions for the public, especially young people and students, to access and learn about the mysteries of the sea. This is a practical step that contributes to raising community awareness about the importance of the sea, thereby spreading the message of protecting the marine environment, an urgent task for humanity.

The opening of the "Mysterious Ocean" exhibition area is not only a scientific milestone but also a significant cultural and tourism event, affirming the role of the Oceanographic Museum in connecting knowledge with life. With its unique experiences, this exhibition area promises to become a must-visit destination for anyone visiting Nha Trang in the near future.
