Museum of Fine Arts launches 3D Tour online technology

01/09/2021

After a testing period, on August 28, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum launched 3D Tour online visiting technology, integrated on the museum's website.

In the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, museums and relics still have to temporarily stop receiving visitors, so technology is the most effective bridge for relics and museums to reach the public.

With content in Vietnamese and English, audiences anywhere in the world can freely explore the museum's permanent exhibition space, admire the artworks, and hear general introductions to the exhibition themes.

In addition, 100 typical artifacts introduced in the iMuseum VFA multimedia presentation application are also linked to the 3D Tour online exhibition, with prominent icons attached to help visitors easily recognize them.

In particular, the high-resolution video introducing two national treasures: the 16th-century Guanyin Bodhisattva and the screen by painter Nguyen Gia Tri, with careful investment in images and stories, will help the audience admire the beauty and feel the historical and artistic value of these masterpieces.

Experiencing the video about the lacquer painting by the famous painter Nguyen Gia Tri, Dr. Le Thi Minh Ly, Vice President of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, said: “The birth of the painting, its artistic and historical value, and the intangible cultural heritage value of the lacquer craft are summarized and explained vividly, combined with filming techniques and an expressive voice. I like this way of introducing museum artifacts in general and artistic masterpieces in particular, which is both entertaining and an opportunity to learn many useful things.”
