This increase in size not only gives the car a more imposing and robust appearance but also directly improves interior cabin space. With dimensions of 4,290 x 1,770 x 1,570 mm (length x width x height), the BYD Dolphin is now one of the most spacious cars in the B-segment hatchback category, dispelling the misconception that small urban cars are cramped.
The ground clearance has been increased to suit the diverse traffic infrastructure in major cities in Vietnam.
This time, BYD focused on adaptability to the complex traffic conditions in Vietnam. The ground clearance at idle has been increased to 155 mm, a 10 mm increase compared to before. This change allows BYD's all-electric model to confidently navigate sidewalks, lightly flooded roads, or uneven surfaces in major urban areas. Inside, practicality is maximized with rear seats that can be folded down in a 60:40 ratio, optimizing luggage space for weekend family outings.
One of the biggest barriers for consumers when adopting electric vehicles is the concern about driving range. BYD has addressed this issue with the 2026 Dolphin by upgrading the battery capacity to 50.25 kWh. With this battery pack, the car can travel up to 435 km on a single full charge (according to NEDC standards). This is an impressive figure, allowing users to comfortably use the car for a week of city commuting or intercity trips without worrying too much about refueling mid-journey.
The charging system of the new BYD Dolphin is also designed to optimize time for busy users. The vehicle is compatible with a 7 kW Type 2 AC charging port for overnight charging at home. However, the real highlight lies in its DC fast charging technology with a maximum power of 60 kW. According to the manufacturer, users only need about 30 minutes to charge from 20% to 80% battery, and 40 minutes to reach 100% charge from 20%. The intelligent battery management system helps maintain stable charging performance under various environmental conditions, ensuring absolute safety and extending the lifespan of the renowned Blade Battery.

Notably, the system's 2 front and 3 rear sensors help the driver maintain a safe distance when driving at low speeds.
The launch of the BYD Dolphin 2026 also shocked the market with its extremely attractive pricing policy. Specifically, the first 1,000 customers who place a deposit to buy the car will enjoy a special price of only 499,000,000 VND, a direct reduction of 70 million VND compared to the official listed price of 569,000,000 VND. This is considered the most accessible price for a fully imported electric vehicle with a range of over 400 km, creating a huge competitive advantage over rivals in the same price range.
