The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has issued Plan No. 853/KH-SVHTT on organizing cultural, artistic, and sports activities and managing festivals during the New Year and Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake) 2025.
Accordingly, cultural, artistic, and sporting events commemorating the occasion must be conducted in a coordinated, practical, and effective manner, avoiding wasteful formalities and encouraging social participation. At the same time, close coordination from the city level to the grassroots level must be ensured, guaranteeing uniformity, safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to the set schedule.
All historical and cultural sites under the management of the Department of Culture and Sports will be open to visitors, tourists, and residents of Hanoi throughout the holiday period.
Through activities aimed at disseminating and educating on political ideology, historical traditions, and culture; fostering and promoting patriotism, self-reliance, self-strength, and the spirit of national unity in the cause of reform and international integration, contributing to consolidating and strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the State.
Specifically, the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam historical site will organize a program for visitors to experience the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam night, including exhibitions, folk games, and the Spring Calligraphy Festival... serving both local people and domestic and international tourists.
The Ngoc Son Temple complex is organizing an art program titled "Ngoc Son Mysterious Night," with the highlight being a performance reenacting King Le returning the precious sword to the golden turtle in a dragon boat.
This is an opportunity to promote historical and cultural relics, while also creating favorable conditions for locals and tourists to visit.
The Hoa Lo Prison historical site is organizing a "Sacred Night" experiential tour program with the themes "Living Like Flowers" and "The Flame of Youth"; holding meetings with historical witnesses; and featuring thematic exhibitions.
Historical sites are required to make good preparations for incense offerings by Central and City leaders, diplomatic delegations as directed by the Central and City authorities, and to serve the people, visitors, and tourists.
The Hanoi Museum organizes exhibitions, thematic displays, traditional education activities, seminars, and discussions on historical and cultural events to serve the public and visitors.
According to the Plan, the Department of Cultural Heritage Management will guide the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities to strengthen the management of historical sites; religious activities; and performances of intangible cultural heritage. The Inspectorate of the Department will coordinate with relevant departments and units to inspect cultural and sports activities and festival management in the city.
