According to the detailed plan announced by the Organizing Committee for the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification in Can Tho City, a widespread and diverse propaganda campaign will be implemented throughout April 2025, aiming to spread the heroic atmosphere and significance of this momentous historical event (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) to all segments of the population.
Visual propaganda efforts will be emphasized, with the solemn display of the national flag, vibrant banners and placards bearing historical significance, and large billboards depicting memorable moments and meaningful slogans throughout the streets of Can Tho city. Simultaneously, a high level of focus will be given to propaganda through mass media, from newspapers, radio, and television to digital media platforms, ensuring that information about the event is disseminated quickly and effectively. Departments, agencies, and all levels of reporters and propagandists will also actively participate in this work, conveying core content in accordance with the directives of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.
Instead of the planned fireworks display on the night of April 28th, Can Tho will have a high-altitude fireworks display on the night of April 26th.
A key highlight in the series of commemorative activities will be the official 50th anniversary celebration of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification in Can Tho City, scheduled for April 26, 2025, with a solemn and meaningful program. The ceremony will begin with a visit to the City Martyrs' Cemetery at 6:00 AM, expressing profound gratitude to the heroes who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Next, at 7:00 AM, the delegation will solemnly visit the Monument to the Beloved President Ho Chi Minh at Ninh Kieu Wharf, expressing their profound respect and boundless gratitude to the great leader of the nation. The highlight of the day will be the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the Unification of the Country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) with the proud and spirited theme: "Can Tho - Continuing the Epic of Spring," held in the spacious and solemn setting of Hau River Park at 7:00 PM.
This special program will be broadcast live on Can Tho City Radio and Television, allowing a large number of people to follow and share in the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony. Immediately after the spectacular artistic performance, a dazzling high-altitude fireworks display will take place at 9:30 PM on the same day, promising to bring memorable and emotional moments for residents and tourists.
The funding for the high-altitude fireworks display was raised through social contributions, not from the state budget.
Explaining the adjustment of the high-altitude fireworks display compared to the original plan, the People's Committee of Can Tho City stated that this decision was made based on the close guidance of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Organizing Committee for the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification, aiming to ensure the utmost solemnity and significance for this important event. Another noteworthy piece of information is that the entire cost of the high-altitude fireworks display will be covered through social contributions, demonstrating the joint efforts of the community and businesses, and will not utilize any state budget funds.
Towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, Can Tho city will simultaneously implement many meaningful activities, including a ceremony at the city's Martyrs' Cemetery, a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Monument, a traditional gathering, a public parade, a spectacular multi-purpose art program, and a dazzling high-altitude fireworks display.

The People's Committee of Can Tho City emphasized that, given the historical significance and special importance of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, all preparations and implementation work must be given special attention to achieve the best results, worthy of this great historical event.
