On the afternoon of April 21, the People's Committee of Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City held a press conference about the launching of the walking street on the occasion of April 30.
Ninh Kieu walking street is located on Hai Ba Trung street, Ninh Kieu park in Tan An ward, adjacent to Can Tho river with a length of about 700 m, creating a unique feature of the urban area of the Southern river region, convenient for expanding exchanges with other river tourism spots in the region.
The launch of Ninh Kieu walking street is a highlight of night tourism in Can Tho in general and Ninh Kieu in particular. This is where cultural activities, arts, events, and festivals will take place, creating a space for community activities, expanding all types of businesses and promoting local traditional cultural values, contributing to preserving and honoring the history and culture of Can Tho people.

The street will be divided into 3 areas:
Area 1: From the beginning of Nguyen An Ninh Street intersection with Hai Ba Trung Street to Ngo Quyen Street intersection with Hai Ba Trung Street, including shopping, culinary activities and Don ca tai tu performances above Ninh Kieu Park.
Area 2: At the Uncle Ho monument, traditional activities such as offering incense and reporting to Uncle Ho on holidays and anniversaries take place.
Area 3: From the beginning of Thu Khoa Huan Street to Hoa Cau Restaurant and above the park from Hoa Cau Restaurant to the pedestrian bridge, including cultural and artistic activities, event organization, festivals, folk games, magic.
The street will be put into operation in 2 phases. In the 3-month pilot phase (from May to July), Ninh Kieu walking street will be operational on April 30. Activities on the street take place every Saturday evening, from 6-10pm and may increase to Saturday and Sunday.
In the post-pilot phase, a summary and evaluation of the results of the walking street's activities will be organized, the needs of tourists and residents will be grasped to develop projects, cultural and artistic activities, types of services, etc. and additional sessions will be organized during the week or every night to serve tourists.
