On the afternoon of October 29, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Da Nang Police) said that they had just coordinated with other units to rescue foreign tourists trapped at a waterfall.

According to initial information, at around 2:30 p.m. the same day, the 114 Information Center received a report from local residents that a foreigner was trapped at a high waterfall in the Suoi Mo Khe Ram area, in Hoa Bac commune (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang).
Center 114 mobilized Hoa Vang District Police to dispatch a rescue vehicle and Lien Chieu District Police (Da Nang), Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department to dispatch two specialized vehicles along with dozens of officers and soldiers to rescue the tourists.
An officer of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department said that accessing the scene was very difficult and dangerous.
Professional rescuers had to travel more than 1km up a rocky mountain pass to reach the location.
Upon arriving at the scene of the accident, the unit commander conducted a reconnaissance of the terrain and determined that the waterfall was flowing very fast, making it very difficult to reach the victim.
The commander deployed the rescue team, using the Pet self-rescue device to reach the victim. Next, the police brought the necessary protective equipment for the foreign tourists.
After 30 minutes, the victim was brought out safely by the police.
According to initial information, the victim is a Russian national, about 31 years old.
