According to initial information, at approximately 2:30 PM on the same day, the 114 Information Center received a report from residents that a foreigner was trapped at a high waterfall in the Suoi Mo Khe Ram area, in Hoa Bac commune (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang).
The 114 emergency center dispatched a rescue vehicle from Hoa Vang District Police and two specialized vehicles along with dozens of officers and soldiers from Lien Chieu District Police (Da Nang) and the Fire and Rescue Police Department to assist the tourists.
An officer from the Fire Prevention, Firefighting, and Rescue Police Department said that accessing the scene was very difficult and treacherous.
Professional rescue teams had to travel over 1km along a steep, rocky mountain pass to reach the location.
Upon arriving at the scene, the unit commander surveyed the terrain and determined that the waterfall was flowing very rapidly, making it extremely difficult to reach the victims.
The commander deployed a rescue team, using self-descent PET devices to reach the victims. Following this, police provided the necessary protective equipment to the foreign tourists.
After 30 minutes, the victim was safely rescued by the police.
According to initial information, the victim was a Russian national, approximately 31 years old.
