Recently, Switzerland has attracted attention with the official opening of the world's steepest cable car system, a marvel of engineering nestled in the Bernese Alps, according to Interesting Engineering. The design engineers claim it's the world's steepest cable car, with an astonishing gradient of 159.4%, connecting the village of Stechelberg in the valley with the mountain village of Mürren.
This newly unveiled marvel is part of the Schilthornbahn 20XX project, which aims to significantly shorten travel time to one of Switzerland's most iconic mountain peaks. When the entire project is completed, travel time will be reduced from 32 minutes to 18 minutes.
