This is an annual poll aimed at helping passengers decide which airline to choose for their flights after the pandemic.
The criteria for selecting airlines are based on the age of their fleet, passenger reviews, and product and service quality. Normally, profitability is a crucial factor, but due to Covid-19, finances were temporarily excluded from this ranking. This year, the evaluation team also included factors related to the pandemic situation in their scoring.
Qatar Airways topped the rankings. The Middle Eastern airline pushed its predecessor, Air New Zealand, down to second place. Singapore Airlines came in third, followed by Australia's Qantas, and Dubai-based Emirates in fifth.
The remaining five airlines, ranked from 6th to 10th, are Cathay Pacific (Hong Kong, China), Virgin Atlantic (UK), United Airlines (USA), EVA Air (Taiwan, China), and British Airways (UK).
Geoffrey Thomas, head of AirlineRatings, said: "Qatar Airways consistently ranks highly in our rankings, winning numerous awards including this one."The airline with the best business class cabin."But it was the airline's commitment to keeping its flight network open during the pandemic that drew praise from the judges and voters."
Thus, Asian airlines account for half of the top 10 airlines in the world in 2021, specifically including: Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, and EVA Air.
