The small-leafed banyan tree has begun to change leaves since early March, making many streets in Hanoi filled with yellow. The most "sought-after" location this past week was along the To Lich River, where a carpet of yellow leaves covered the walkways along the second ring road.

Ring Road 2, starting from the section leading to the elevated road (Lang - Cau Giay - Buoi intersection), currently has three rows of small-leafed banyan trees that have all turned yellow. Small-leafed banyan, also known as Taiwanese banyan, is a medium-sized tree with light brown bark. This type of tree was only planted here a few years ago to replace red maple trees.
The small-leafed banyan has a moderately spreading canopy with short, upward-slanting branches. When its leaves fall, they also cause less pollution and traffic disturbance than the banyan tree.

The images of the romantic yellow leaf road "like in the movies" along the To Lich River have been widely shared on social networks, attracting many people, especially young people to check in. Many people were quite surprised when the road that they just wanted to... pass quickly every day because of traffic jams and pollution from the To Lich River, suddenly changed completely.
Many young people, even though they live far away, still take the time to come here to take photos and record moments with friends. There are people going to work or school passing by who have to stop their cars because they don’t want to miss the poetic scenery on this road.

In the first one or two days, before it was widely shared on social networks, the deserted road brought a feeling of peace and tranquility. However, just a few days later, the number of people coming here began to increase, from morning to evening, it was bustling with people coming and going. This made taking photos more difficult; many people who came here hoping to get a good photo felt a bit regretful, because after trying for a long time, they still couldn’t get a satisfactory photo.

The "Yellow Leaf Road" along the To Lich River brings a new and interesting perspective to the people of Hanoi - who have long had little sympathy for the name "To Lich River". Under the cool weather, this is also a rare moment that makes many people feel like they can enjoy early autumn in Hanoi.
