By taking a Grayline tour bus departing from downtown Colorado Springs, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the majestic natural scenery of the mountain named after explorer Zebulon Pike, who led an expedition to the area in 1806.
Following the winding, secluded path, the wild animals will "greet" visitors in a rather carefree manner, an encounter you are unlikely to have a second time in your life.
The winding, curving roads will thrill you right from the foot of the mountain.
Although Pikes Peak is open year-round, the best time to visit is during spring and summer. Don't be surprised if you still see snow on the summit in mid-May! The scenery is at its best when the sun is shining, and you can enjoy the cool breeze while your hair feels warm from being so close to the sun.
The area surrounding the mountain is very popular with outdoor adventurers, especially hikers and whitewater rafters. If driving yourself, you can drive to Pikes Peak via the North Pole - Santa's Workshop to the toll station. The round trip is about 38 miles (61 km) and takes about two hours - note that parking at the summit is limited!

I had no idea what kind of creature was greeting me because... I'd never seen one in my life.
Colorado beer is among the best in the United States, thanks to the water from its rivers and streams, and the city of Colorado Springs also contributes significantly with its distinctive flavor. Isn't that why Coors Brewery chose this snow-capped mountain as its brand ambassador?
Enjoying a donut made at a mountaintop bakery with a glass of lukewarm beer is sure to give you the feeling of being "on top of the world," with the whole world right at your feet!
From the summit of Mount Pikes, the entire world seems to unfold before the visitor's eyes.
Conquering the summit of Pikes Peak in winter is a daunting challenge that not everyone can accomplish.
