From 6 p.m., the crowd became even more bustling, pouring into Nguyen Hue walking street and Bach Dang wharf (District 1), where special art programs called "Colors of Uncle Ho's City" were ready to offer eye-catching performances. This is a series of activities within the framework of the important celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), an event that is not only a historical milestone but also a source of deep pride for every Vietnamese person.
Fireworks light up Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate 50 years of unification
The audience was engrossed in enjoying the lively Mapping performances against the magnificent architectural backdrop of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee headquarters, immersing themselves in a diverse musical and artistic space, and eagerly awaiting exciting surprises on the poetic Saigon River.
The highlight of the festival is the magical high-altitude fireworks display, held at 9:30 p.m. on the Saigon River bank. To ensure safety and create the best conditions for people to enjoy the show, many major roads around the central area have been adjusted to limit and prohibit the movement of vehicles.
Crowds of people were eager to see this special performance "once in 50 years"
According to the records, the bustling atmosphere was everywhere. Around Bach Dang wharf, restaurants, bars, and cafes seemed to have no empty seats, the sound of laughter mixed with the sparkling lights. Parking lots were full, and on many routes leading to the center, the flow of people was getting thicker and thicker, creating a bustling and joyful scene.
And then, at exactly 9:30 p.m., the most awaited moment arrived. The first bursts of fireworks lit up the sky of the city named after Uncle Ho. The cheers and applause from thousands of locals and tourists, combined with the crisp sounds of the fireworks, created a symphony of light and sound, a jubilant and brilliant festive atmosphere.
From the late afternoon, the main roads around Bach Dang Wharf such as Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Hue, Dong Khoi were crowded with people, all with a common goal: to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of joy and pride, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.
