Accordingly, on the evening of April 19th, Ho Chi Minh City seemed to burst with a vibrant energy, the central area transforming into a giant stage, a convergence of countless festive colors. Crowds eagerly flocked to Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (District 1) to capture beautiful photos alongside the symbols of victory from the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, the Liberation of the South, and the reunification of the country.
From 6 PM onwards, crowds intensified, flocking to Nguyen Hue pedestrian street and Bach Dang wharf (District 1), where spectacular art programs titled "Colors of Uncle Ho's City" were ready to present breathtaking performances. This series of activities is part of the grand celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), an event that is not only a historical milestone but also a source of profound pride for every Vietnamese person.

Spectators were captivated by the vibrant Mapping performances against the magnificent backdrop of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee headquarters, immersed in a diverse world of music and art, and eagerly awaited exciting surprises on the romantic Saigon River.
The highlight of the evening was the dazzling high-altitude fireworks display, held at 9:30 PM along the Saigon River. To ensure safety and provide the best viewing conditions for the public, traffic was adjusted on many major roads around the city center, with restrictions and prohibitions on vehicle movement.
Many people were eager to see this special "once-in-50-years" performance.
According to observations, a lively atmosphere pervaded everywhere. Around Bach Dang Wharf, restaurants, bars, and cafes seemed to have no empty seats, with the sounds of laughter and chatter mingling with the sparkling lights. Parking lots were full, and on many roads leading to the city center, the crowds grew larger and larger, creating a bustling and joyful scene.
And then, precisely at 9:30 PM, the most anticipated moment arrived. The first bursts of fireworks illuminated the sky over Ho Chi Minh City. Cheers and applause from thousands of residents and tourists, blending with the crisp sounds of the fireworks, created a symphony of light and sound, a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
From late afternoon onwards, the main thoroughfares around Bach Dang Wharf, such as Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Hue, and Dong Khoi, were packed with people, all heading towards a common goal: to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of joy and pride, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country.

The next fireworks display will be on April 26th, also at Saigon Riverfront Park, Thu Duc City.

In addition to the opening night on April 19, 2025, the series of cultural, sports, and technology-themed performances on April 26, 2025, and April 29, 2025, under the theme "Colors of Ho Chi Minh City," promises to be spectacular with brass band performances, cavalry parades, community art, and especially a light show using drone technology, expected to set a world record with 10,500 drones.
