According to the plan for organizing the Ben Tre Coconut Festival 2015, the festival will be on a national scale, expected to be held for 7 days, from April 7th to April 13th, 2015 in Ben Tre city.
The Ben Tre Coconut Festival 2015 was organized with the aim of enhancing the promotion and introduction of the coconut industry and coconut products of Ben Tre in particular and Vietnam in general to domestic and international tourists; creating opportunities for exchange of experiences in planting, processing, and consuming coconut products among farmers and businesses domestically and internationally; and promoting linkages to gradually improve the value chain of coconut products in Ben Tre and Vietnam.
During the festival, there will be special activities such as the opening and closing ceremonies; the "Impressive Coconut Land of Vietnam" float parade; the Southern Culinary Festival; the expanded Ben Tre Coconut Beauty Contest; a competition to select model coconut gardens and honor coconut growers; and the launch of an expanded Ben Tre literary and poetry writing competition. Visitors to the festival will have the opportunity to experience the "Sparkling River and Water" tour. In particular, the highlight of the festival is the "Culture and Tourism Week" program with diverse and rich content, promising to attract many visitors. In addition, there will be many side activities such as exhibitions, conferences, and seminars.
The Ben Tre Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that preparations for the 4th Ben Tre Coconut Festival in 2015 are being actively implemented with close coordination from local departments and agencies, from promotion and communication to infrastructure preparation, cultural, tourism, trade, and service activities for visitors. It is known that two press information centers will be established to serve media outlets reporting on the festival; and plans are underway to provide free Wi-Fi along the coconut road, in the food court, and at the conference center.
Following the directives of the Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee, in the coming period, the relevant departments and agencies of the province need to continue coordinating to accelerate the progress of preparatory work for the festival; focus on propaganda and promotion; and pay special attention to activities during the Culture and Tourism Week, ensuring that all visitors to the festival can participate…
