The world's longest flight due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, this flight no longer has a layover, but flies continuously for a distance of up to 15,700 km.

Air Tahiti Nui flight TN064 has just set a world record for the longest flight distance, covering 15,700 km. This is also the longest commercial flight ever, taking nearly 16 hours to travel from Pape'ete in Tahiti to Paris, France.

Normally, this flight would have a stopover in Los Angeles, USA. However, due to the increasingly complex Covid-19 situation and the implementation of new regulations at US airports to prevent the spread of the disease, the flight could not transit in the US and was forced to fly directly to Paris.

According to a representative from Air Tahiti Nui, the flight was operated under exceptional circumstances, stemming from restrictions imposed by the US government to prevent the spread of Covid-19 from European countries.

Late last year, Qantas Airways (Australia) set a record for the longest flight. However, that was a test flight as part of the Sunrise project, covering 17,800 km in 19 hours and 19 minutes, from London (England) to Sydney (Australia). Because it was a test flight, there were few passengers and limited luggage to reduce weight, thus burning less fuel to cover the long distance.
