What's inside Scotland's largest maze?

Traquair is the largest tree maze in Scotland, covering an area of ​​over 2,000 square meters.²It was built in 1981.

Initially, the maze was formed with cypress trees, but during the extremely harsh winter of 1983, more than two-thirds of them died. Afterward, the maze was replanted with sturdier chestnut trees, adding a romantic touch each autumn.

Over the years, the Traquair maze has been a popular filming location for feature films, television shows, and commercials, not to mention Bollywood movies. The maze is also a romantic wedding venue. Every year, a children's Easter egg hunt is held, with approximately 6,000 eggs scattered throughout the maze's nooks and crannies.
