Good news for the tourism industry
Ms. Ho Thi Phuong - Director of Premier Tour Travel Company - said that Mongolia tours always have a special place in the hearts of Vietnamese tourists, partly because of the beautiful landscape, friendly people and interesting cultural features.
Regarding visas, travel agencies assess that the procedure for applying for a Mongolian visa is not complicated. Since the beginning of this year, Vietnamese tourists have been able to apply for an electronic visa. Currently, with the new visa exemption policy, Vietnamese tourists can save more money when traveling to Mongolia.
Furthermore, from the end of this year, there will be a direct flight from Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. From a business perspective, Ms. Phuong assessed that this flight will contribute to boosting two-way tourism demand, especially bringing more international visitors to Nha Trang.
“Many Mongolian tourists have known Phu Quoc, Da Nang and Nha Trang. Because winter in Mongolia is harsh, people often prefer to go to the coastal areas of Vietnam for vacation. Mongolian tourists usually travel to Vietnam from October to April of the following year,” Ms. Phuong analyzed.

Attractive Mongolia Tour
A country with endless steppes, unique culture and beauty like Mongolia is becoming a rising star on the tourism map. Mongolia can bring unique experiences to international visitors when exploring wild nature, learning about culture and interacting with the Tsaatan reindeer herding tribe…
However, tourists should note that they should not travel to Mongolia on their own, because the distance between tourist attractions is quite far, the travel time is long, sometimes they have to sit all day in the car, ride a horse through the forest...
The Mongolian government has in recent years invested in a social media promotion campaign targeting potential tourists aged 23 to 40.
They also invited social media influencers to Mongolia and posted videos of the country’s lush valleys, clear lakes and signature orange sand dunes. According to a 2019 survey cited by Mongolia’s Ministry of Tourism, 49% of visitors to the country were under 40.
With new cooperation agreements, Mongolia can welcome more and more Vietnamese tourists.
Last year, Mongolia welcomed nearly 250,000 visitors, more than six times more than in 2021, when the country opened up after COVID-19. Most visitors came from neighboring countries, including Russia, South Korea and Kazakhstan. The number of visitors from Europe and the US increased by more than 500% between 2021 and 2022. With new cooperation agreements, Mongolia is fully capable of welcoming more and more Vietnamese visitors.
The Mongolian government is also working to expand internet access for residents and tourists. An estimated 84% of the country's population has internet access, and households often have solar panels to charge their mobile phones as they maintain a nomadic lifestyle. The government is also working to open flights from Ulaanbaatar to popular destinations around the world.
