Faced with the strong development of SUP (Stand-up Paddleboarding) - an attractive water sport originating from Hawaii, which has been attracting thousands of people and tourists to participate every day in Da Nang, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches (MB) has just officially issued detailed recommendations to ensure maximum safety, protect the marine environment and maintain urban beauty.
To ensure the safety of paddlers, the Management Board clearly stipulates the golden hours for SUP paddling activities: morning from 4:30 to 8:00 and afternoon from 16:00 to 18:00. Outside of these hours, visitors should not participate. In particular, the Management Board warns against SUP paddling in bad weather, rough seas or strong winds, to avoid unnecessary risks.
Da Nang beach is bustling all summer thanks to SUP activities
Participants are required to strictly follow personal safety rules: always wear life jackets and fasten safety belts to your legs during the entire paddle. SUP paddling activities are only carried out in areas with instructions on Man Thai beach, away from areas with swimmers and especially coral protection areas to preserve the precious marine ecosystem.
In recent years, SUP has flourished on the beach in Da Nang, attracting a large number of locals and tourists to participate, especially in the summer.
In addition, to maintain order and environmental hygiene, the Management Board prohibits participants from bringing pets, organizing meals or using stimulants while SUP paddling.
The Management Board also sets out strict regulations for organizations and individuals providing SUP services. Accordingly, these services are only allowed to operate within the licensed area and are absolutely not allowed to encroach on the tourist bathing area and the coral protection area.
The Management Board reminds residents and tourists participating in SUP paddling to only paddle within the prescribed time frame.
One of the most important requirements is that service providers must be responsible for training, instructing basic safety skills and disseminating rules and regulations to customers before using the service. At the same time, there must always be staff accompanying to supervise and support customers throughout the paddling process. This is to ensure that all visitors have enough knowledge and support necessary to experience SUP paddling in the safest way. The Management Board emphasizes that any violation of the above regulations will be strictly handled according to the law.
Players should choose safe SUP rental services with accompanying instructors; do not paddle into swimming areas and coral protection areas.
This tightening of management of SUP activities demonstrates Da Nang's commitment to building a safe, civilized and sustainable marine tourism environment, both promoting the potential of recreational sports and protecting the city's precious natural resources.
