Models strike a unique pose in designer Cong Tri's 'Rice' collection.

After unveiling his No. 9 collection, themed "Rice," at Tokyo Fashion Week 2016 in mid-March, Cong Tri received positive recognition and feedback from fashion professionals and enthusiasts worldwide.

Immediately after returning to Vietnam, he continued to showcase "Rice" at Vietnam International Fashion Week 2016. Recently, the Dep team revamped the collection with a new concept and created a photo series that reflects a different spirit and perspective on the designs in the "Rice" collection.

With the desire to offer a fresh perspective on Cong Tri's Lanh My A designs, the Dep team chose settings that capture the value of everyday life over the years, such as a wooden house with an earthen floor and a sofa; a street corner at night after the hustle and bustle; and studio settings with checkered tile backdrops creating a sense of old-fashioned, everyday life and nostalgia. After showcasing the collection on prestigious and luxurious stages, the team wanted to breathe new life into the "Rice" collection. From there, each viewer will experience the beauty through their own personal perspective.

While supermodel Kim Nhung was previously chosen as the vedette for Collection No. 9, this time the team combined her with Cha Mi, Kha My Van, and Thanh Thao in group and solo photos. The models, showcasing Cong Tri's Lanh My A designs with their sharp eyes and striking faces, along with bold poses, evoked a fresh and unconventional approach to the "Rice" collection. This also revealed a different side of Lanh My A designs and demonstrated the bold and distinctive artistic vision of the production team.

Sharing his inspiration for the 2016 Haute Couture collection titled "Rice," Cong Tri said: "The image of Vietnamese peasant women in traditional 'áo bà ba' blouses in the rice fields, always hardworking and strong throughout the ages, is the inspiration for this Collection No. 9. Based on the simple 'áo bà ba' style with raglan sleeves, a round neckline, side slits, and two front pockets, the comfortable silhouette is transformed into various types of tops, pants, skirts, and dresses, forming the main structure of the collection." Accordingly, 90% of the collection's materials are Vietnamese silk, especially Lãnh Mỹ A silk, which is entirely hand-woven. The remaining 10% consists of other materials used for tailoring techniques.

Currently, Cong Tri is in the process of preparing a new collection that will be launched this year. He also recently introduced to fashion enthusiasts his renovated showroom, located at 194 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Ward 6, District 3, which he personally designed and selected the interior for.
