Recently, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has sent a document to the Ministry of Transport requesting permission to remove all regulations on seat spacing on airplanes as well as allowing airlines to transport passengers according to the configuration of the aircraft from 0:00 on May 5, 2020.

However, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam still maintains the view that the distance between passengers when doing aviation procedures, security screening, and queuing to board the plane at the airport is 1 meter. At the same time, other regulations on ensuring disease prevention and control will not change.
In addition, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also proposed that the Ministry of Transport adjust the time for frequency allocation on domestic routes. Accordingly, from 0:00 on May 5, 2020, the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route will increase the total frequency to 52 flights (round trip)/day. The two routes Hanoi - Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang will both increase the total frequency of each route to 20 flights (round trip)/day. Other routes will follow the needs of the airline.

From 0:00 on June 1, 2020, domestic flights will operate normally. Airlines are allowed to sell tickets for domestic passenger and cargo flights and international cargo flights on the distribution system for the entire 2020 summer flight schedule.
Regarding the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Vietnamese aviation industry continues to implement epidemic prevention and control measures as required by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Transport such as: medical declaration, disinfection of aircraft, arrangement of seat spacing, measuring passenger body temperature, refusing to transport passengers showing signs of cough, fever, difficulty breathing and notifying medical quarantine at the airport to implement necessary medical measures...

Recently, the Ministry of Finance has announced a draft regulation on the collection and payment of fees and charges in the aviation sector to support businesses facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Accordingly, the management agency proposed to reduce a series of fees and charges for airlines, the right to exploit airports, as well as customs fees and fees for entering and leaving airports for foreign flights to Vietnam.

Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority issued a document requiring domestic airlines to only sell tickets for flights licensed by the agency. Currently, the authorities have not granted long-term flight permits to airlines due to the Covid-19 pandemic. For flights that have been sold without a flight permit, airlines must refund the ticket price to passengers without collecting any money.
